Stop Fooling Yourself...

December is a great month for cold calling and closing new business. I had been coasting along with my recurring payment clients, when I decided I need to add to my client list.

Monday, December 3rd I decided I needed to start calling for new clients. Yes, I know that Monday is not the greatest day to call, but I did it anyway. I kept calling Tuesday and Wednesday scheduling appointments for later in the week. I ended up with 5 appointments – 3 on Thursday and 2 on Friday. I ended up closing sales for 3 websites and 1 reputation management project. I got 3 new clients (sold one client a website and rep. management services) and I have to follow-up with the remaining 2 this coming week. Over $7000 in hand and $9000 in recurring fees.( I only mentioned the money to motivate you to call, the figures are gross revenue, not net.) This really did happen for me and it really can happen for you too. There is no magic button, just work and determination. You just have to take action.

Remember, there are many businesses who need our services and are looking for tax deductions before the end of the year.

Tomorrow is Monday December 10th, it's time for you to start calling and time for you to get paid!

P.S. Don't be afraid to ask for the money.

Amen to that! The only way you are going to get sales and "see some return" is if you are calling or having someone call for you. We have so many "testers" that say they can't afford to pay for calls because they need to have some income first. They don't realize that unless you actually CALL, you aren't going to get income!

If you've ever called to ask anyone if they have Prince Albert in a can, [QUOTE]

STaylor; OK, how did you find out about where Prince Albert is? How much air does he have in this can? Does he have food? Toilet facilities? Where can we find it? I have alerted the FBI.

I said "We have finally cracked the Prince Albert disappearance. He is in a can. And STaylor knows where it is".

Expect a PM from the FBI.

So these were local, face-to-face appointments? That's a very nice close rate.

Yes, these were all face-to-face appointments. I get the sale because I am not afraid to ask for it and all of the money. Although, when I grow up I want to be just like iAmNameLess, and Slam sales for large web projects on the phone, without ever meeting face-to-face. For now, meeting the clients is my path of least resistance.
