Simple Flyer, what colors

Some where on WF I think I read for the best results use a gold/yellow background with black lettering. Is that correct?

Thanks

I think it's just a matter of what you're selling on the flyer and how the copy looks/design looks. I know I've seen tons of flyers in different colors, some that look great and some that are a mess...I'd focus more on the content and layout and THEN play with colors.

I tried to look for the thread but couldn't find it...hopefully someone will pipe up and help you out more!

I have created a zillion flyers... in other words a 100

My rule of thumb when it comes to anything aesthetic is
not to make the reader have to work harder.

Dull yellow is not bad, but bright yellow makes it hard
on the eyes when reading line by line. Careful not to use
too dark of color or you have readability problems
      as well.

As mentioned, what matters most is what is on the flyer,
more so what is at the top of it and how the thing is
      laid out.

Let me know if you want me to take a peek at it and
give you some advice/opinions. (free of course).

Neon yellow or pink with black ink stands out sharply.
Super big headline you can read 10 feet away.

Completely based on opinion ad the context. I mean what are you advertising? This needs to be addressed first and foremost before you consider colours. For example the corporate industry often use blue whereas holiday companies use lighter colours. Does that make sense?
