Video SEO Targeting Local KWs, 1st page possible, or not?

The fact remains, Local Keywords are relatively easy to rank for compared to regional, national or even international KWs.

At the same token, you seem to see a lot of video results for the BIG national and competitive KWs, compared to Local KWs. I believe this is due to G+ (Google places) eagerly displaying results for its top 7 Places local results. Therefore, automatically forcing any video results to the bottom of the page, i.e. if you have managed to rank your video for the particular Local KW (don't get me wrong there are videos that outrank Google's 7 Places results in rare cases, but even then it seems very rare).

So, if anyone would care to share their insight on this, it would be incredibly helpful to myself and to others as well.

And do not just tell us, "it's possible to rank videos". "anything" is possible ..... I am interested to know as to "why" video results are not ubiquitous in the SERPs for Local KWs? Is there anything in Googles algorithm that automatically makes it super hard for videos to rank in Local results, and perhaps the reason why it might require to rank a video in local, hence making video seo for local KWs obsolete?

    I created 10 videos for 10 cities in my particular area for a specific niche as a test, one video is ranking in spot 1 above the service magic listing (Im working in a specific service industry niche) and the google places listings, no backlinks it took about a week. I think its the city which isnt very big (less than 200k population and the income is less $50k).

    Some other videos that are ranking on page 2 and beyond im noticing the cities are of course much larger over 250k, and the average household income is over 100k.

    I wish i could answer your question, but i dont have that much experience with ranking videos as im still learning and testing.

      I am not quite sure either. Using your argument, when you mention city population, it will take the argument to "competition". But that would be strictly a matter of SEO (more seo job should tackle that). But again, it comes back to that one thing that seems to evade me and unfortunately no one has said anything about it here.

      In your case, for those videos that has showed up on Page 2, the indication is that your videos are ranking for the particular KWs, you should be encouraged, because now a bit more of link building service to your videos should take care of the rest.

      I am face with the dilemma why local KWs in the SERPs are not displaying videos much?

      Not much traffic so far, and no calls. Im going to do some more seo on all the videos to try to generate some more traffic.
