Any and every city in Canada has Kijiji.ca (owned by ebay). It is by far the #1 classified source in Canada.

Craigslist is big everywhere but may not own certain markets.

in most cities there is a local news channel that will have a classified on their website, like here in utah people use our local news networks classified on ksl.com. Usually there is a better source than craigslist and that is what I'm looking for

I use KSL for everything but I've never seen an equivalent classified site in my travels of the country. Yes, I've noticed that a lot of news sites have classified sections but none of them have gained local traction like KSL.

Well, in a sense it is Craigslist for so many cities. I mean they are by far number one ranked classifieds site and of course this means that they are most popular in many cities.

For small suburbs in half the USA, try patch.com... Ads cost from $125. But they let you run a blog and make announcements for free. Tied to one suburb per account. You do get views in neighboring suburbs.

Craigslist is great and all, I just feel knowing the good localized classifieds are better for establishing trust, there are less spammers, and you can get higher quality leads.

Thanks for the share DABK, that looks interesting.. that is kind of pricy though, I wonder how much work it would take for it to take hold in a community, and the possibility to monetize the page or directory included..
