I loved that video. It took me years to realize that being lazy wasn't a negative but was a positive as long as you have the intelligence to focus on that 20%. I did this all my life but always punished myself mentally for it.

Thank you for sharing that. I loved the paraphrase of the General. So true.

In my working life as an employee,
which mostly involved heavy physical work,
      the whole working environment encouraged
it and penalised you if you didn't obey the un-written law.

Naturally the system encourages employees to be the hard working worker bee.

As a business owner you want employees to be that way.

After reading the E Myth it started to change my thinking.

I saw my employer at the time struggling in the role as a hard working team member as well his role as work organizer and administrator.

A few times he confided in me about his frustration.

One day I said to him, "Merv, do you really want to get out of this mess because it is glaringly wrong what you are doing wrong"?

Here's me a low paid employee talking to him if I was a consultant/ mentor/coach!

Anyway, he said yes and I said you need to read a book I have and I'd bring it in to work the next day.

Short end to the story, within 2 years from reading the E Myth,
he went from 2 to 10 employees, his overheads per employee remained the same,
      quit smoking.

      Big transformation.

      He quit working hard.

      Best,
      Ewen

Thanks for sharing that. I personally use 80/20 to manage myself and my business.

I use the ideas in "Getting Things Done" and put everything, I mean everything, in a list.

Then I look at that list and decide which 20% will lead me to my goals and I do them.

I've found that 20% of my contacts will buy something, and 20% of those buyers will buy more.
