Bar & Restaurant Blogging, Lucrative?

Was thinking to start a bar and restaurant blog within a city like London. This would obviously include reviews of the popular classy places within the city but I was wondering if this would actually be lucrative. I was guessing monetization could be from doing direct advertising deals with the restaurants themselves.

I have looked around and can not see many bar and restaurant focused blogs but I think I am looking in the wrong place.

I was wondering if anyone on here knew of any that I could look at? Or even a WSO that covers the subject?

    Look for john durham threads about directory sites... You'll get some ideas... plus, some of the posts, if I remember correctly, were from people who were doing restaurant directories... or review sites.

    I hope you can find the information you're looking for and I also hope you seriously try this out. Not only could it make you some money, but it sounds fun too. You could probably get some free restaurant meals out of it if the owner knows in advance that you're coming in to review the restaurant for your website.

    Can't speak much on direct advertising deals but I'm sure they're extremely plausible. There's a ton of threads around here on the subject that can be dug up.

    Try out some different keywords and just go through any threads that relate to what you want to do. Enjoy the process.

    the idea is actually good. Find a specific small place (maybe London is too big) and start to blog about ur topic. If you manage to get enough visitors for your blog (probably u can do it with some seo,sem) you will be earning money from direct advertisements.
