Share server?

I am completing a site for a government contractor. I just received this email to log in to the server. Does anyone have any advice on what this means or how to do it?



You will have to RDP into the server.I do not have a login site setup.

    I just figured out how to log in to the server. Now, I have to figure out how to upload files on a Wordpress site once the job is complete.

    Shared servers are cheaper one's , it means that it is not only you or your files that are in there, could be 2 to 5 depending on it's capacity. Some issues before are with viruses, which means you also share other clients virus. I believe a better way to prevent that nowadays.

    Does this server meet the requirements necessary for hosting a wordpress site? The correct version of php etc...and ability to connect to MySql database?

    I don't know much about RDP, but can you transfer files over it like you would FTP files normally to your typical web server?

      RDP is Remote Desktop Protocol. (Windows) Also known as MSTSC (Microsoft Terminal Services Connection)

      I'm curious to why you're using php driven sites on Windows servers though. It would be much easier to use a Linux server since Windows Servers give moe headaches when it comes to php & other Linux technologies..
