Unix based client/Wordpress

I am trying to get a site loaded up for a client on to their servers. Unfortunately, we are having trouble. The site is a wordpress site that is currently hosted on my domain in hostgator. I need help understanding this email from client:


Is this web site hosted on a Unix based client? We do not use Unix. I would like to set this up with you as we also host our SharePoint server on this client. Give me a call when you have a chance.

  • I think you are in the wrong forum with this one. What are they talking about anyway? It's a Wordpress site. They act like it's from another planet.

    "WordPress runs on any server environment that can run PHP and MySQL. And, you can access WordPress (read, write, publish, etc.) with any browser on any operating system."
  • SharePoint = Microsoft
    WordPress= Unix

    unless you want to go through hours of work to install a bunch of stuff on the M$ box, leave it where it is. I would charge hundreds to do this - its literally not worth the effort

    and yes this is the wrong area of the site for this question
