Best Project Mgmt System?

It seems like everybody swears by Basecamp, but at $50 per month, it just seems so expensive.

I currently use Freshbooks for invoices and my CRM is Salesforce. I would like to integrate those two but I would have to pay $20 per month to do so.

I would love a Project Management system that syncs with SF or Freshbooks that isn't too pricey.

In the meantime I'm testing out Asana which is free (not sure how much access I am allowed in the free version, it didn't say). But I'd prefer to not have to enter in everything in three different applications.

So, long story short, what is everyone else using?

Perhaps there's a CRM with Project Mgmt capabilities?

I hate monthly fees so I'm always looking for free or one time priced items. Project pier is a free open source system and has a basecamp type theme you can download but it has some bugs. Overall I just decided that we needed to start work on our own in-house project management system. For invoices I use wp-invoice. It ties right into my merchant account.

I use Harvest - Simple Online Time Tracking Software - Harvest . It has the dreaded monthly fee (only $12 a month for a single user) but it's perfect for my needs for managing projects and tracking time etc.

I'm looking at this; I like the time tracking part; one of the constant challenges with outsourcing is getting the workers to report how they are spending their time, specifically enough so that I can get a picture of where there might be a hangup, and what is going smoothly. More accurate tracking would help me get more efficient use out of each person's time, by having them do what they are best at, and when possible, shift tasks they struggle with to someone who has the skill or talent needed.

I agree with whoever said Basecamp is overpriced; so far I haven't seen benefits justifying much cost at all; it's convenient, but at first glance, it doesn't seem to offer functions that justify $49 a month.

I'm going with Asana for now. Seems to do the job. It works for up to 30 users or something. Free too.

I agree, recurring fees suck, but do you know what doesn't suck? This guy I know who was born in a coop, raised in a cage; children fear him, critics rage.
