What else works for offline marketing? (My 1st Post)

I don't know why I felt the need to write "my first post" in the title.

Launching something big soon, can't really be specific about it - patent is pending at the moment.

I had the t-shirts/jumpers made with the company logo pretty standards, mugs made for the office, keyrings, oyster card holders all with the logo.

^ All the above is standard and common of course & it costs very little.

Any more suggestions from you guys will be much appreciated, what should I do in terms of offline marketing to ensure when launched the company name gets out as much as possible.

P.S it's a social networking site with a big twist, I believe the concept will leave people mind-blown & it will work to our advantage in terms of promotions & people passing it on themselves however you can never leave any thing to chance or hope.

Posters, flyers, and brochures. Yelp did a huge poster campaign in the SF Bay Area when they first got started. It was around 20000 posters over about 3 months. Quora tried a small one but didn't keep with it. Flipgigs has been doing a pretty much ongoing campaign for about a year.
