Business Blog in a Developing Country - A New Whole Approach.

Hello offliners.

I donno if this is the best section to post it this specific thread but I am so familiar with you guys that I think some of you will give feedback.

So, me and my mate are going to develop a new business blog in our still developing country - Moldova. The big difference between our business medium and other countries' is that we have less competition and it is pretty easy to open a business, yet it is difficult to mantain it because of many factors wich relate more to illegal competition crushing powers (corruption, interests, etc.) We have several business blogs here wich approach the usual blogging style (some of these are printed on paper and are supported by TV channels) so we are planning to build more of a community where members will be able to interact with each other and learn things they would not normally see in regular blog.

So, we are at the stage of building the site and we already outlined some of the features we are going to use, wich are the following:

1. Forum
2. FAQ
3. Video Interviews with succesfull entrepreneurs
4. Event Notes
5. Tips and Guides
6. Guest Post
7. Guest Blogging
8. Webinars

Well, we have more on the list with things wich are pretty basic and usual for blogs but we are still looking for the "big little twist".

Is there anything you think will help us?

Also, if there is a slogan you can come up feel free to do this, remember we are more a community than a regular blog.

Thanks.

As someone who has been writing for the business community for some time now, my advice for you, since your target audience and content is going to be unique rather than the generic tips, is to start lean.

Focus on building the reader base and a list of loyal subscribers as a start. Once you have that, setting up surveys or referring to your analytics will reveal the types of content or features that your audience are looking forward to.

This approach is better as you know where to spend your time and efforts building the right features and content rather than building random features that nobody wants to use.

    Hope the above helps,
    Wayne

I would focus on 2 or 3 specifics no more. Under 'business' all thise you want to do, be specializing on just 2-3 will bring in other interest. U know what I mean.
