Demographics Software/program

I find that alot of businesses actually have no idea what there true customer base actually is. So they are just blindly marketing across the whole spectrum without any idea of who their most profitable demographics are. So is there a software/program out there that collects customer information and determines what the businesses most profitable demographic is. Maybe something that a company could upload a CVS file of their current customers and it would process the info. Anybody know of anything like this?

  • This doesn't exactly answer your question...but it's a different spin to it.

    Instead, use this website (ZIPskinny - Get the Skinny on that ZIP (demographics by ZIP Code)) and learn what the demographics are of the cities that the business is targeting. Then, analyze the info. you find and start putting together some marketing pieces that target the demographics you've discovered.

  • Thanks for the reply, Eric but the problem is that most businesses that have a decent size book of business have no real clue of what their most valuable and most profitable customers actually are nor do they know the demographics of those "best" customers so that they can target more customers just like their best customers. What I am looking for is a program that you can enter your current book of business into ( I sure some additional information will have to be added to make it accurate) and also provides you with the needed information to collect to make the report as accurate as possible (whether it be for new clients or existing clients).
