When is the best time to email businesses? What particular days/times get your emails noticed more?

Thank you,

    Hi

I've heard that you should avoid Mondays and Fridays. Too many people using those days for long weekends and for the rest, these are busy times. (Catching up from the weekend / trying to get everything sorted before the weekend).

That leaves Tues / Wed / Thurs and I'd say mornings are probably better than afternoons. Perhaps between 8-10am. The people will be relatively fresh and hopefully not too bogged down in their day's work yet.

This is only what I've read, but it's a place to start. Hopefully you'll get a reply soon from someone here who's tested this extensively!

    Hope that helps.

I don't really give damn about this so long as the email is consistent, interesting and with catchy title, it will perform more than often not.

I do my mailings on Tues, Wed and Thurs. Normally in the morning at about 10am.

It also depends on the responsiveness of your leads. Mine are pretty responsive because i meet them face to face before adding them to the list.

Never found a better time to email businesses as many business people are now connected 24/7 to their email with smart devices. The more important point is to get them to open your email and action it!

The best time is after you've talked with the DM and gotten his permission and interest to email him more information. This ensures he opens it and expects it. You should also set the appointment time to nail him down on the call and put the confirmation in that email you're sending.

      Exactly!

The difference between this and what everyone else has mentioned is the DM will be expecting and looking for your email.

You can play around with, "oh I will send out on tuesday at 10am, or thursday at 9pm" but the truth is that those don't matter as much as if you have created interest and your prospect is looking forward to your email.

Not only that but I have always wondering how do people know that wednesday at 9am is the best time?

I find it hard to believe because you dont know your prospects email reading habits.

Do they read their emails first thing in the morning?

Do they allow their inbox to overflow and then have to scramble to catch up?

Does their inbox and folders look neat and tidy, everything organized, or is it a mess and your email can quickly get lost in the blackhole that their inbox has become?

You don't know how full their inbox is, or how organized they are with email, and what kind of filters they have setup, when they read their emails, so that is why I find it hard to say that 10am on Monday morning is the best time.

However, when you compare that to what MWind076 mentioned, being in that situation can cut through all of what I mentioned above.

Because no matter how untidy, or when they read their emails, if you have their interest and permission, they will be looking out for your email.

and that is the best time.

The best time is RIGHT NOW!

It is better to take action then to worry about minor details like days and times. I agree it is a lot better to work smart then to work hard, but you would be better off doing what other people have said and make sure that the email you send is opened and read rather than focusing on when it is sent.

From my experience the best time for me has been Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. The customer generally will open the email and I get good response .

Depends on the customer, the context, and you.

Who are you sending these emails to, why are you sending them, what relationship do you have with the recipients?

the idea of emails is to catch the attention............if an email is sent latre it will probably be opened by a people first thing in the morning.....along with another bunch of emails.........in which case the email will get severely lost......you need to email at around 10 am to 12 am so that it is delivered after people have settled down and not close enough to lunch when they maybe thinking about other things other than food...

Stop emailing and start calling. I've done quite a few split test and from that as well as speaking personally with other marketers calling is hands down more effective than any email you can send out.
Get good on the phone and you'll laugh at the thought of cold emailing. A mediocre but consistent dialer will outsell the best emails.

Hell, you're probably better off leaving voicemails than emails lol

    I have two answers.

    1. Never: Honestly I can not personally think of one time that a cold B2B email got my attention enough to buy. Most suck. If this is a numbers game we have to assume your email will be among those that suck.

    2. Now: If on the other hand you know how to craft great emails why wait. This is a world where people have email on their phone (3 accounts for me). So if they get it now they will do one of three things. They will read it now. They will read it later. They will delete it. And while time might influence a bit between the first two I doubt it will do much to the 3rd group. So send them now or once they are ready to be sent. Once you send enough you may see a pattern on when they are viewed plus when action is taken. From that you can better target when. But IMO people will read their email when they want to. So rather you got their 5 mins before or 5 hours before isn't going to matter. They will either check it all the time or batch it out once or twice a day.

Tuesday at 10am is statistically the worst time you can send emails. From 4pm-6pm you have a drop on opens. 7am-8am is usually the best, if you miss that time then the next best is 8pm-9pm but the down fall is if you have a call to action for them to CALL YOU then you miss out on those times, assuming you have normal business hours. One of the best days for open rates, is usually on Saturday mornings but that depends on the industry.
