Toll Free Vs. Local number

I am in a bind trying to decide whether to purchase a local hawaii number or a toll free number to be re-directed to my (California) cell phone.

I have built a website vacation home in hawaii and don't know which method would convert better or rank better in google.

Any one have any ideas or theories?
any suggestions for toll free/local number services?

      You should spilt test it. Why wonder just prove out which works best. My hunch is that the local will be better.

    You can get both fairly inexpensively from a service like twilio, but my experience has been that if you're looking to appeal to a local market, the local number outperforms the toll free hands down.

    If you want to rank in Google Local, you must have a local number. PERIOD. 800 numbers are a negative ranking factor in Local.

    If you do business outside of Hawaii, professionalism dictates an 800 number provide a marketing image.

    Therefore if both apply, then get both numbers. Do not split test, don't waste your time.

    800 numbers forward to local numbers, and I spent very little each month for my 800 number. Get both and use both everywhere.
