Email opt in advice please

Hi good people of Warrior World.

Doing an email campaign for client who has 3000 subscribers but not via the usual route of opt in form etc, ie database of contacts, clients, they created themselves and have been mailing themselves.
Now looking for us to do it, I normally use AWeber but they need the database to opt in again which might not be a bad idea anyway as it gets rid of dead wood but you will also lose some genuinely still live contacts simply due to pressure of time etc
So question is where is best to use for such a campaign, I wont use MailChimp as I just dont like it and if its the free version you get some dumb looking monkey plastered all over it, anywher ethat wil lallow upload, wont need another opt in process and is white listed (gets delivered) and has good professional options for templates .
I should add we are based and work in the UK

Many thanks

I use Getresponse, it's great and less hassle than aweber. I heard Constant contact is great too.

Or you can email them yourself if you dont need any extra features like web opt in form or fb apps like that. You can track open rate or click tracking with yesware.com if you use gmail to send. I haven't done it myself, but it's an option.

    Hi, many thanks
Yesware, as far as I can tell from using it, can only work by sending one email at a time ?
Getresponse is a good option but £50 a month is a bit steep. Ditto CC is £32 a month, bit better
A Weber is about £20 a month max for the 3500 subs.

For my email autoresponder, I am using Pure Leverage. Still in its early stages but offers much more subscribers than aweber.
As for what you are asking, it allows you to add people manually or by their emails. You would really have to contact the staff and tell them exactly what you need.

Hope you can sort this out!

I think yesware can send in bulk, just create a group and send to that group. Their sales page seems to show like it can, but check with their support just in case.

I'd suggest YourMailingListProvider because you can upload your list, no need to have subscribers opt-in again. Very low cost and reliable. Here's a promo link that saves you 15%. Plus when you use this promo code I'll also get credit on my account there, so it's win win.

      Hi

Thanks I have an account with YMLP already and baulk at using them for such corporate level emails just because Im unsure if they all get delivered and certainly the reporting stats are weak with too many 'they wont get noted as opened if ......................' excuses

Those "excuses" you cite are actually valid reasons why open rates are usually more than can get reported. I've seen where I've gotten calls from emails which weren't reported as open. If the recipient has images blocked in their email program, then it won't get reported as opened, no matter who sends it. Of course, you can bypass the blocking by embedding the image into the email, and YMLP has a setting which allows you to do exactly that.

    Hi MJ,

With GetResponse you can ask compliance to import the list and waive the reconfirmation. You can even have the list tested before you actually import. Just drop by our website and contact support.

Would I be able to move over my lists from Aweber?

And do you have a broad selection of opt-in boxes like Aweber? I tried Constant Contact and its opt-in boxes were atrocious.

        Hi RRG,

The current AR you have it with doesn't matter. The quality of the list is what counts. So, regardless of who your current AR is, you can ask us to test it and if there are no problems, it will be imported. Drop by our site, talk to our customer support people via IM, email or phone and they'll fill you in. Contact me directly if I can be of any help.

        Regards,
        jim

Yes, Getresponse has many different opt-in boxes to choose from, I think even more than aweber.

Trust me make the switch now...GetResponse is 10000X better than aweber.

Whichever email marketing software/service you choose to use, once you import the list, it is better to let the recipients know in your first email the reason why you are contacting them and explain them the way to unsubscribe if they don't want to get emails from you. This may decrease the number of people in your list but the list quality will improve and also this will decrease the spam complaints.

The price might be a bit high, but for your needs Getresponse is the best way to go.

I successfully transferred a list of emails to getresponse without the need to do a double-opting again.
