Whats the Internet Equivalent of the old Paper Business Card Everyone Use to Hand Out ?

My question pertains to naming a new product I have. I have struggled mightily with our concept and product and thanks to the people here on Warrior Forum, who have pushed me, gently, in the direction of defining my product so people can understand it.

I think I have it !

I didn't know it, but I have the PERFECT Viral business card.

My product is something that people will use in place of handing out a paper business card AND/ OR the equivalent of what people hand out, distribute, on line to stay in contact with the people they meet.

I need some internet people to point me in that direction, whats the internet equivalent of the old paper business card?

Thanks for your help.

Bryan

    OK. I would call it:

    The Perfect Viral Business Card.

    Yes I would. Seriously.

That is a thought. Not sure if I want to limit myself to the angle of only a Business card, see below for a further explanation.

It's that you summed it up yourself when you called it the perfect viral business card. And I thought, well that does say exactly what it is, succinctly, doesn't it?

Not only that but it raises curiosity. Makes you want to see why it's perfect. Well, that's a plus for marketing it too.

So you have another use for it? Then implement a different campaign for that angle. Why are you trying to go after different angles in one marketing campaign? Do what works for each angle.

There was someone selling something on Shark Tank going after a niche market. During their time in the tank, other markets were thought of who the product would appeal to. After Shark Tank they went into those markets. Sales boomed.

Was it blueblockers that did that too? I'm not sure. Let's assume it was. They did something like advertise to pilots spinning the glasses as what pilots need. They then spun another version for outdoorsmen. Somebody's done something like that.

Nobody wants to download software these days just to stay in touch, this takes something inherently easy and complicates it (you should be making things easier, not harder). I would recommend doing some market research first before you waste too much time on this.

And.. Every time in your post above where you said 'it gets better', all I could see was how much more complicated it gets.

I totally agree with this. You are taking a simple process and complicating it.

I certainly wouldn't give someone a software program for free, in the hopes that each time they opened it up they would see my "branding" and remember me.

I would want them to remember me, because of me and what I have to offer helps them.

And I would want them to be able to quickly, and easily access my contact information so they can call me.

I wouldn't want them to have to turn on their computer, open up this program and then get my contact info.

That's even if they download it in the first place.

And let's say they are out and about, and they don't have my contact info because it is on their computer at the office, in some vague piece of software sitting on their computer?

Sorry buddy but there are alot of easier and simpler ways to exchange contact info - maybe you have heard of one - it's called a business card!

      lol

It sounds more like a Virtual Assistant or Virtual Life Coach. I wouldn't get too cute w/ names of something totally new, it takes too much education of market. You are better off naming/basing it on something that people are already familiar with. The words auto, automatic, auto pilot, easy may be incorporated. People will not use or try complicated things.

I still dont understand wtf this is all about... and yes I do remember when you first pitched this thing.

My product is something that people will use in place of handing out a paper business card AND/ OR the equivalent of what people hand out, distribute, on line to stay in contact with the people they meet.

This about sums it up. Everytime I saw "it gets better" I was more shaking my head.

Really you may have a great product I just dont see it being distributed in the manner you have described.
