Do you mean you cold call them on the phone and 3.5% actually pay you $200 for a site? If so, not bad. I would think though that if you upsold to a $500 denser site, your overall average sale would increase.

That's a lot of calls for only 200 bucks. Would up the price in my opinion.

      It's not only $200

      I believe it's $200 per site.
So, 100 calls would average $700

I think that's a fantastic response. Care to share your cold calling script to even get someone to listen to you much less get 3.5 buyers out of 100?

    Thanks,
    Kim

Also, what type of sites are you building? From scratch or do you premade templates?

      Just 1 tips:
1.Say that you promise that the site will give hem more sales and customers.

and i use my own pre-made templates and i change my script every week...

How about "I give away my websites , want one?"

Surely you dont REALLY want the script of someone who sells websites for $200.

Why not? Everyone has a different business model. Currently it costs me $20 - 30 (including domain registration) to create a website with a video that ranks in the top 10 consistently for strong local keywords. This is without me doing any of the work. We build new websites every day. I've considered doing an offer like this, but with my current model I make more per website.

Of course for this pricing they'd get what I give them not necessarily what they think they want.

I think you answered your own question.

Great so now both of you are unhappy, you make less and they dont get what they want. Sounds like a genius way to do business.

That's not at all how I meant it.

At that price point you aren't going to give a customer exactly what they want and 1000 revisions, etc... What you can give them is a good looking site that is template based with minor customizations. I'm sure it will satisfy most customers. Of course you tell them from the beginning what they are getting, which is basically a proven lead generating website. Then of course you can have upsells and things like that after the site is made.

As far as me making less money in the long run then from a similar site I'd own it is definitely less than what I'd make on the site, but if I put one person to make the sites, one person to sell the sites, as long as they pay for themselves and make me a few dollars while wasting a minimal amount of my time it's a win win scenario and of course scaling up would be a possibility.

I don't have to have one business model I can do what I do now, hire more people and do this. I'm not saying I will do it, it's just something I thought about doing. The system I have in place right now makes it extremely easy for me to do this.

You really need to place a higher value on your services. Start by reminding yourself no fewer than than 50 times a day IN THE MIRROR; "my sites cost $2,000 (two thousand) because I am the best in the world at what I do. Then say that to business owners who balk at price.

Once it's in your head that you will never accept anything in the hundreds for payment for services rendered - things will start to happen.
