Hey Warriors,

I found a pretty good 800 service, that I shall be using soon.

What does it mean, when they say 300 minutes? I will be using the service and it will do call forwarding. If I do not pickup the phone, it goes to voicemail..does this count as minutes?

In short, the answer is yes - the call will normally count toward minutes even if it is not answered. This depends on the service provider though.

Additionally, each end of the trunk is sometimes counted separately. That means that your caller connecting counts, and a live answer counts again. I would suggest that you ask the provider directly, as there is no hard fast standard for this sort of thing.

And to answer your other question, many do not use toll free numbers. local numbers tend to work better with local offline prospects IMHO.

Also, with most land or cell phone packages minutes used are minutes used regardless if they call an 800 or regular number. Or, many people have the unlimited minutes packages... Godaddy does not have an 800 number. Maybe just an added expense you don't need.

hmmmm you guys do make a good point...Most of my clients are out of state, so maybe their phone packages cover this? If I can avoid the 800 number, i'll gladly avoid it.

All good points. However, the main advantage for me to have an 800 number is that I don't have to list my personal cell number to the public. I don't have a brick and mortar business and work from the home.

Why don't you just use a Google Voice number and forward it to your cell? Free and easy.
