How to Setup Recurring Payment with Paypal but charge one off payment first?

Hi guys, I've been searching around for this but can't seem to find anything on it only how to setup subscription payments.

That's fine but PayPal doesn't give me the option to make the buyer first pay a one off payment and then be billed every month.

I have a product/service I'm selling and I want to charge them $79.99 firstly, then bill them $5 monthly.

Anyone know how to do this?

Thanks for your kind help guys.

Mike.

When you go to Paypal to make your subscribe button, click on the box that says "I want a trial period." Then it will set up how much you want to charge for the trial period (the first billing) and after that will charge the regular subscription price.

    Hope that helps

Thanks mate. Found that now. Unfortunately after looking into it a bit more its not right for me. I want my customers to also be sent a username and login password but this requires a premium Paypal service to do this also it requires a lot of technical knowledge setting up a Perl script etc which is a bit beyond me.

I could create the button, take the first payment and then have them in a subscription but it would mean I would have to manually create their user accounts and password etc and I don't have the time for all that.

Nothing worth having is ever easy to come by.

Wishlist member will do this for you, if you use wordpress it has a nifty plugin, if you have a coded site it has code and a web manager tool. It will sign people up with usernames etc as well as integrate with PayPal.
