Hey Offliners,

First of all, thanks to all that support others and reply back to my posts and other people's posts

Ok....I will start mailing postcards, for my venture soon! Is there a limit on mailing Non - eddm postcards?

Can I mail out 100-200 postcards, at one time and not have them end up in the postal trash or require a permit to mail them out?

Ty

If you send them first class, you can mail as many as you want. I think if you use bulk rate there is a minimum.

How much are you getting your postcards for? Looks like you can mail a postcard for $.33 postage... They profit when you mail, so it is in their interest to get your message out.

No envelope could mean most postcards go into the trash before they are read by the recipient... But, greeting cards in envelopes do cost a bit more.

People are always love to receive postcard because they will feel the care from you and delight them if they are your existing customer.
Use the goverment post then it will not likely be in trash . Stamps might be costly but if give better open rate on your post card.

My previous real estate client ask me to arranged at least 1,000 contacts to be mailed. I don't see any issues with it and surely very high open rate.

I will start a postcard campaign soon, because someone is messing with my Craigslist ads. I've been wanting to do it for a while but this is pushing me to do it sooner.

Open rate on most postcards is 0%!

We have mailed out thousands of greeting cards and hundreds of post cards. We got little response with post cards and get a very strong response with greeting cards that come in an envelope.

A post card, if the graphic isn't interesting and it feels like marketing... Bam, straight into the recycle bin.

A greeting card that comes addressed from person to person with a real stamp on it almost always connects with the reader. People HAVE TO open a greeting card that is addressed and mailed to them.

I think it stems from being a kid and receiving about 10 pieces of mail each year... a couple Christmas cards and the rest birthday cards... all in those kinds of envelopes. Seeing those envelopes almost triggers excitement, anticipation and if the message is correct, a quick and powerful connection with the reader.

We use a simple system that lets you send out one-off postcards and greeting cards as well as bulk campaigns with contact/address import functions, etc. Shoot me a PM and I'll share a link if your interested in checking it out.

Based on what I've read, and how I myself instantly throw away junk mail, it doesn't seem like mailer promotions would be cost effective. Would love to hear otherwise though.

Take a look around the many, many threads about direct mailing. You will find that you are very much off target with your comment.

Also, remember that a printed greeting card in an envelope with a stamp on it doesn't look anything at all like junk.

It looks like a card from a friend or family member... Passes right by the 'Junk Mail Radar' and gets opened and read.

Postcard is really effective. I send maximum of 300 postcard a day and it was pretty cool. Content and graphics is the most important thing when creating postcard.

As I recall without checking, the minimum for bulk mail is 200 pieces, plus the cost of the permit.

I'd do an oversized postcard, 7x11" minimum, as they stand out a little better. Or for smaller quantities, do 8x10.5 for a bleed, cut to size. Do these all the time for a client and they work well at that size.

Good call, Tim... the qr codes for more info can be compelling. The system we use actually lets us upload a video to their servers and then they place a short link in the card so the visitor can read the card, visit the link and watch the video for more information.

Very powerful lead generation and referral marketing ideas, here!
