Any Help or Solutions Will Be Appreciated.

I want to start building Florida rooms ( glass enclosures & screen rooms), but don't really know how I should start advertising. I have the tools, crew, and about $2000 to advertise. I just need to get 1 or 2 jobs a month. These rooms take about 5 days to build and I can profit around 6 or 7 thousand per room. Even if i pay my other guys $1000 per job, I can still pocket $3000 and have $2000 per month left over for advertising. I was thinking about Post Cards by zip codes or neighborhoods, but I'm not sure. Just looking for any ideas.

thanks

Don't spend a dollar on anything except for gas, food, and water during work hours. Find your target market and LITERALLY get to knocking doors.

You will learn a lot about how to effectively MARKET (not advertise) to your target market - thereby minimizing waste later on, while profiting in the process.

Also, when you do get a job, have your company yard sign - with the owner's permission of course -in the front yard while you are working. Company contact info on your vehicle as well. Be there in the morning and evening so all the neighbors can see your contact information when they come to and from work. Work a split shift if you have to.

A friend of mine did quite well with his lawn sprinkler business doing this.

If your just getting started, utilize free advertisement. Everyday is another day to market, new ideas will come to you, and it's up to you to execute these ideas. Start with Craigslist. Flier your neighborhood grocery stores, create business cards, and continue to market daily for your service. Work jobs and manage your team in between.

    Hi there,

I think before you take one step, you need to find what are the hot-points for people who have Florida rooms.

Are they gardeners? Do they get the room for flowers, plants, etc?

Does this room add value to their home - how much, specifically? Is it a "spend X get Y" type of value transaction.

What do these people lose if they DON'T get one of these rooms?

I'm sure there are other hot buttons you can research.

Then, you can buy mailing lists that fit the criteria you seek and you can mail using these hot-buttons to increase your response.

Just doing blind, blanket marketing for this is like the person in the other thread with the garage doors, imho.

    All the best,

    Sasha.

Matching the right message to the right people will be key.

If you go into a neighbourhood with big families,
then your message will be an extra bedroom, so no need to shift.

You can use a similar message to property investors.
They can charge the equivalent of an extra bedroom home.
    Advertise in their newsletters.

Here's a story on a guy profiting from overcrowding
which could possibly be happening in your area.

Other than offline ads... radio... word of mouth or p.cards... I can only offer you online means like:

    1. ask someone to send their email list about your awesome service.
    2. ask someone to set-up for you a google ads campaign.
    3. set-up a website instead of a physical location and have your site optimized (plus social media accounts).

    I hope this helps...

I want to second the idea of cold walking neighborhoods to get started.

It will be a good way to learn how these ideal customers think.

Once you get a few clients use what you learn to target via door hangers and EDDM postcards.

If you build and expand in a few months to a few years you could be one of those guys on the radio or TV where their name is who you think about when you need a spare room.

We have a company locally that does windows, siding, and doors and everyone knows who they are thanks to long term branding. They now dominate the local market for these services.

Have you thought about visiting customers who already have oa Florida room?

Knock on door. Hi i'm John, I noticed your beautiful Florida room. I'm starting a business here locally to build these. Can I inquire as to why you built on a Florida room

Ask them why they bought. Ask them what they like about their Florida room. Has it fulfilled their expectations? Ask them about their regrets and what they would do differently. Should get lots of ammo for your sales presentation, and some good quotes for your upcoming flyers, and website.

Door knocking is definitely the way to go. You'll burn through a few thousand in advertising so quick it'll make your headspin and you won't have anything to show for it. Spend a few hundred bucks on doorhangers and some presentation material.

I have a canvassing team for my remodeling company and nothing beats its effectiveness when you need leads immediately. Just make sure to get doorhangers to leave at the homes that don't answer.

    WTF is a Florida room?

I understand what it is but in my area I have never ever heard anyone refer to it as a Florida room. Sunroom, enlosed porch but never a Florida room.

I would start off by determining what people actually call it or know it by.
