Technical Question - Client - Re:Hosting
I have a client that I'm working with on a site redesign.
They currently have an SBI site that sits on Yahoo hosting.
Yahoo hosting doesn't play well with Wordpress (how I build sites)
I have a Host Gator reseller account, and would like to use HG to host new Wordpress site.
The old content doesn't need to be transferred, but the biz owner wants to keep the email going as is. Owner checks his email on Yahoo site, manager checks his with Outlook. Email addy's are their names ex. brandon@contractor.com stephen@contractor.com.
So when I point DNS of domain to HG ... I can create email addresses like their existing Yahoo addresses...but email will be down during propagation...and they will lose their old emails correct? Outlook emails should be fine if they were POP3 and not IMAP.
Yahoo said that we can continue hosting with them, and they can redirect traffic to site hosted with Hostgator.
Just thought someone might have some experience on what's advisable in this situation.
