Alternates to Craigslist?

Hi All,

Posting on craigslist in multiple cities has been difficult and needs special talents to be able to do successfully.

Having said that, are there any alternates to craigslist that can get good results. There are many popular classifieds sites like backpage and ebay classifieds but has anyone here tried them or any other for their offline clients with good results.

My clients are all services suchs as plumbers and roofers. All in the US.

Thanks in Advance!

    Backpage.com

Has a better auto renew feature as well.

I've gotten a few clickthrus every time I post an ad to a landing page.

Glad to hear positives on it. All I ever hear about for them is the sex ad problem they have. Even locally there are a load of sex ads. Seems like a vice cop's dream.

I will have to test some RVs on there and see what kind of hits we get. I had been avoiding it thinking it was too unknown and too underground.

Thanks for the info that you were getting traffic from it.

ebayclassifieds.com is a good alternative if you live in US and if you live in Canada try kijiji.ca.

There really is no better choice than Craigslist, Imo. Your best bet is to simply pay someone to post up live ads there. As you said, it's requires talent to post to multiple cities, so just hire that talent.

This all varies on where you're located. If you're from Canada, Kijiji is a great option. Australia or UK, Gumtree gets great results.

Craigslist dominates the US market, and it's for this reason that they've cracked down on spam and prevent bulk posting. With that said, there are many people out there who offer relatively inexpensive posting services.

Posting on alternative classifieds is great, but the reality is that you're not going to get the same number of views or leads per ad posted.
