WARNING: GOOGLES WATCHING US

Well, I just got a surprise!! I've seen a lot of warrior threads high in search results but never really thought much of it until I just did a search relating to another active thread in this forum.

Last night the OP asked for advice about her first ever appointment selling a service she is going to provide. In the thread she mentioned the city and country she was located which is the same place her prospective client and I live.

I did a search just before using the exact terms the OP used to describe her service and guess what was the eighth result. The active thread. This isn't some long tail search term and would be the logical search term for the prospect to use if they wanted to find out about the service.

sms marketing r*** e***** a*****

(for those who don't like puzzles, they sell houses)

Anyway, it's just a reminder we should all be mindful of what we say on the forum. This is a public forum after all.

BTW I posted this here rather than on the main forum because I think it is more likely to affect us than the people who concentrate on online marketing.

Cheers Don

I'd say it's more about how quickly WF gets indexed and ranked for long tail keywords than Google "watching us". This is a big site with a lot of activity and authority.

But I just did the search myself and it came up at #3 on one variation of the search phrase.

This isn't about being paranoid. It's just a reminder that a prospective client could possibly find information here about the service provider. Most times it doesn't matter but what if the poster said something like, "I've never done this before and am just learning from "6 easy steps to facebook marketing" how much should I charge them?"

Do you think a prospective buyer might alter how much they are willing to pay someone if they knew the person wasn't the expert they pretended to be?

As for your results, you have to be living in the same location as OP, the prospect and myself for them to be relevant as the location was mentioned in the same post as the search term.

      Cheers Don

Well, I just did another search and....... the results weren't so bad

it shows up in number 2 spot for "sms marketing r*** e***** a**** location

This is a city of 1 million people where the OP, the Prospect and I live where there are quite a few sms marketers.

It shows up at number eight for "sms marketing service r*** e***** a****

This term plus the word "for" is the exact phrase the OP used

It shows up on the 4th page for "sms marketing r*** e***** a****

This is the search term I thought I had entered but obviously I had included the word "service" in my search

The reason I made the error was I was just in a hurry to get back to the forum to PM the OP to be careful about what she said and, if she choose to, maybe to delete the search term, or at least the location, out of her post.

Anyway, it doesn't change the general thrust of my post that posters should be mindful of what they say on the forum.

        Cheers Don

Who isn't Google watching to say the least. Really have to be extremely careful what you post on this forum it ranks extremely high and VERY fast. Similar to other sites like Ripoffreprt etc...

Creating a WSO for a product that you also release on Clickbank is a good way to make your Clickbank affiliates and Clickbank mad, when buyers refund over there after finding the discounted product here.

    I've seen it happen.

The OP gave a valuable heads-up. If the service provider that was alluded to has a client Google their "key words", it could create an awkward discussion.

    LMAO

    I gotya Don. Makes sense.

The quicker a thread dies, the quicker it falls out of the rankings, though. So, I'm sure once the Warrior's thread stops being updated it will fall from page 1.

Personally, I wouldn't worry too much about it as long as the City name isn't used in the post.

Google doesn't have the time to watch you or anybody. Maybe they'll do a few manual reviews now and again, but it's just a case of learning how not to trip their filters and which type of links bring success and which don't.

I never meant an employee of Google is watching us..... I was talking about the search engine. I must admit the thread title was a bit melodramatic though.

It was my thread he's talking about. Once I deleted those keywords from the post and title, it vanished from google almost instantly. I did some other random searches because I was curious and still couldn't find it. Again, Thanks Don

i guess i dont care if Google watches. we'll never be able to outstart them because realistically. they probably buy all our wso and other strategies to make sure they keep the upper hand. so we just have to stay innovate as us marketers power their billion dollar business.

If google (or anyone else) is watching me they will be very disappointed/bored with what they find.

    Oh well.
