Plug~n~Play Lead Generation

This whole idea started when I met an individual that was pull an astronomical amount of leads from one craigslist city, over four niches. Of course as someone who knew the value in online classified ad marketing, I was very intrigued to say the least. I was lucky that said individual opened everything to me so I could see what was being done to generate that many leads.

After that I was testing it in other cities and in some higher dollar pay-per-call niches, long story short it out performed everything else I was doing, hands down, in sheer speed and easy of use vs. the amount of quality leads I was getting. Only thing left to do is scale through the roof and not to have to wear every hat in the business model.

Instead of just keeping this thing to myself I offered this to many of the folks in my Local Lead Gen Master Mind..as some of you may be a member of.

This is what was offered and you tell me if its not the most plug-n-play lead gen going

All they have to do is get the proxies and PVA numbers for CL accounts then skype them over to our VA and he runs the ads in the city and niche they want, using our already successful ads.

He also uses our twillio account to track the number through our script and when it gets calls we get a client to buy them for a 50/50 split.

I tried to make it as hands off as possible but got people in now and going to launch this week just looking for flaws in the model and sometimes many eyes can help people out with that, namely me in this instance.

Any question or comments would be welcome.

So what kind of input are we suppose to give you from this brief overview?

If you are getting leads for different types of trades(roofers, plumbers, construction) this has been done before. There are some issues with varying state laws, which must be considered, or one may become involved in significant legal problems.

However, you haven't really given any real info; thus, I can only speculate.

    So whada ya talkin' 'bout?

Not sure how you could miss the point, as in does it seems easy enough...as in legal problems, state law has no effect on a website based in another state, so it is California law that matters in the case of CL.

I don't really know if you will be providing a reseller kind of service or just lead gen for your own clients... so I can't get much feedback.

However, you are wrong on the legal issue.
Some states require a license number for certain trades in all advertisments.

if the ad is in that state, how could a state demand a website based in another state comply with their laws, when you go to CL no matter the state the ad is in California..not like a print circulate that they have domain over because its physically in their state.

It is really easy to miss a point which wasn't stated. You only mentioned high dollar pay per call niches, that could be something like heavy equipment or it could be something like a trade(e.g.. roofing, plumbing, etc.)

Again, if you are talking about the trades - roofing, plumbing etc. you can end up in legal trouble if you don't follow the laws of that state, even if you are somewhere else. What you are talking about is not new, you should read this thread --

        Note this post in particular:

http://www.warriorforum.com/offline-...ml#post6931669 -- fines that had to be paid by someone generating these type of leads.

Now if you are talking about matching buyers and sellers of high value products like heavy equipment, building materials, etc., then you are good to go.

You were not clear about what type of leads you are generating.

That thread has little to do with what I was talking about

Nope service industry and it all depends on the federal law not the state unless its CA law ...I as an advertiser from another state am not subject to other states laws on the internet except the ones where the website actually is and there is no federal law that requires such a compliance. People will get fined if they are in the state and break the advertising laws. You can see that in tons of localized directory websites.

Well I guess the flaws would be the numbers.....

I don't have experience with craigslist but I know voip providers are wary of CL posting when giving out phone numbers, google numbers don't work, etc.

I don't want to simply put a downer on this idea as it does allow for money to be made quickly.

You did ask for flaws in the model though.

Firstly your not building a sellable asset as you would have if you built up a site to rent out the leads.

Secondly I'm not sure on how many adds you are posting but from my take on it it seemed as if you was looking to flood craigslist with lots of adds. Would your client worry about spamming giving a negative image to his business? Again I may of got the wrong end of the stick here.

Thirdly there are no real barriers to entry here, no specialist knowledge required meaning anyone could do it resulting in a lot of competition for yourself. Again comparing this to lead gen from a website where at least a somewhat amount of seo knowledge is needed to be successful.

Having said that this can be implemented very quickly and can get going from day one without having to wait for the rankings and such like.

The hard part comes when trying to convince the business owners to buy your leads.

Its defiantly no asset based marketing but for people who:

      * have no access to the US market

      * don't like selling on the phone

      * cant write an effective ad

      * want something that makes money and can scale.

      Its a win win

flooding craigslist over many cities is the idea but after so many ads its counter productive in a single city and niche.

no real barriers to entry here is exactly the point as I make half the lead if I sell it to a client...so the more accessible the better.

sold a ton of SEO via CL, don't like site design as a rule so never tried it but can't see why it would not work.
