Prospect: "I have a FB FanPage" I Checked: 4 Whole Fans!

This was the amount of fans the prospect has.

After telling me "what do you know that I don't"...

Getting sick and tired of arrogant business owners...

    "Not my market...next!"

Not everyone is going to be a fit. This one on personality. No problem, don't let it affect you because you'll start prejudging the next call. And that is a problem.

The next dial could be picked up by someone BEGGING the universe for a person just like you to call them.

business owners are still strangers in fb even if they use it to socialize with friends and family. the mistake marketers make is thinking ppl care about social media and they want likes. they want customers!!! nothing has changed. i dont even offer social media unless i offer to manage the whole acct. otherwise it's a waste for both parties. who needs 100s of likes on an inactive acct.

Today I had a business owner tell one of my designers to "get a real job".

Arrogance is every where, just have to ignore it and move along.

I've heard owners talk about how annoying calls like the one I was doing were, guess they didn't know how to use the mute button. I agree with Kebertt, ignore them, move along and keep it up.

Jason's got the winning attitude here. Cold calling can definitely be frustrating. Just remember that your job is to deliver the message. You're going to get assholes and people who are ignorant and don't understand YOUR value - that's okay! Just feel sorry for them, move on, and start the next call with a fresh and positive attitude. You'll find your guy.

    Best of luck!

hold up, he asks you 'what do you know that I don't?' errr so tell him, show him, prove it, sell him .
So he has a FB fan page, yes he does, he's being honest, he never said its a successful one though did he ? at least you didn't share that he did, so maybe just maybe he wants help getting it better, so tell him what you know that he doesn't and sell him.

I don't see arrogance from him in what you shared.

Of course you can come back and admit you only told a fraction of the story and then I might agree with you ;-)

      Mike, see this thread:

      http://www.warriorforum.com/offline-...i-baffled.html

This kind of question gets thrown at me occasionally. It's very early on in the conversation, and the prospect does NOT want to be told, sold or given gold (sorry, I was looking for something that rhymed). They just want to get out of the call.

Once in awhile it's the D doing the credibility test. But even then, "So you got one right, so what?" and it's just not a good fit personality-wise. There are lots of people who are easier to talk to, have a shorter sales cycle, and will treat me better.

Now I did wonder why there are two different OPs for the threads, after I spent the time looking up the original one.

Hey Jason, I don't need to see another thread, I have this a lot too and ,maybe its different here in UK to USA but often its overcome by continuing the communication , I tell them what I know, not giving it all away of course but yeh I know 500% more than they do and I let them realise that, I prove to them I aint some dumbo who is trying to sell them a deadend solution to an issue they don't even have, I congratulate them on having a FB page, now what was it you really wanted it to achieve, well heres how we can do that whilst working alongside you .

See often they can be mad cos they got duped by some local 'guru' who set an account up (FB fan page), took some money and then done a runner and didn't help them at all, they are wary of that happening again and so of course go on the defensive and that's understandable given much of the BS we see on here and elsewhere of people not knowing anything getting deals to deliver stuff they don't even understand themselves simply because they purchased a WSO etc, happens all the time and business owners are getting screwed , so its up to the decent ones out there to get their business more successful and part of that is grasping the mindset of many of the (previously) screwed over business owners out there, and assuring them that I aint gonna rip them off, this is what I know, how much did the previous people inform/educate you , they didn't? cos they didn't know enough to do so most likely, just had a plug and play software piece that they used to 'deliver a solution' you didn't even need , now lets talk ...............

Being specific, The reason this business only has 4 fans is because whoever set it up or encouraged them to set it up didn't give any more assistance or direction , its far less likely to be anything 'wrong' with the business owner, who truly wants the fan page to work for them but doesn't understand how to, and why should they, that's not their forte.

Some people say, "this guy isn't worth it" - but that may or may not be true.

Why did you not know he had a facebook fan page with only 4 likes BEFORE you called.

Then you wouldn't be on the defensive looking like a fool. You could say, I noticed you did - and that is a great step - but with only 4 likes it isn't doing nearly enough for you as it could be."

Then he can ask his annoying question, "what do you know that I don't" and you could say "how to get people to like your facebook page, to start"
