Need Assistance with Recommdations for Potential a Client

I'm working with an up and coming jewelry designer here in NYC who needs help with getting their Wordpress blog to display properly on the iPhone (responsive design) and walk them through how to install and use Google Analytics. I'm going to charge them an hourly consulting fee for now which is fine but I don't want to leave money on the table or undercut myself just offering only that since they seem to have a lot of ideas for improvements but don't really know how to implement them...

I'm not too familiar with the jewerly niche but so far I've come up with some additional suggestions:

-Get an account on Tumblr and Instagram
-Optimize the blog for search engines
-Show them Wordpress plugins they should be using

Something that concerns me though is they're currently working with a web design firm and are seeking someone else since "the firm is taking too long with deliverables" Also they had a friend try to assist with design changes for mobile but "they didn't seem to know as much as they said" I'll see tomorrow what I can do for them

Anything else? What else do you think they need?

Why dont you have a conversation with them and ask them?

You will get better answers if you find out the answer to that question,
ask them about there challenges and such and then come back here for more
    specific ideas.

Pinterest , too. (they need to look at TOS for all these sites and how they use them
    for design protections)

When you find out their challenges and business landscape,
also discover their manufacturing and production capabilities.
I think marketing would be different if they can mass produce
    as opposed to one-at-a-time.

I don't know how SEO would be but Pinterest and Instagram are a must. Also do Facebook and Twitter obviously.

Who is there target audience? Is it higher end, low end, etc? That is going to help out a lot.

        What is their goal...

Have people view a virtual showroom then go to store to buy...

        or...

have their items sold off their website?

Different things need to be done on the website in each case.

        Best,
        Ewen

Thanks for the recommendations they're already on some of those social networking sites but I'm surprised they're not on Tumblr or Instagram.

BTW, I don't know if this is allowed but should linked to their blog (which they're calling a "site") to give all the other offliners a peak at what they do: Mercedes Hart | VSA Design

From the looks of the publicity her company is getting it looks like they're targeting high end, going for product placement in the media so they're doing pretty well on that front with getting momentum going.

I agree with the pinterest route. Since jewelry is typically marketed through means of photo and video, that would be a great forum for them to jump on.
