What is the price I should ask for an article?

I have an binary options affiliate site, and one of the brokers ask for a price for a 500 words article to put on my site (which we write).
What is the common price for such article? a rough estimation will do.

Thanks

The going rate for 500 words is $5-10. If the owner sees you as an authority source, you can charge more though. I would charge $50 if they really wanted ME to write for them, and weren't just looking for cheap content.

    Wow opinions but no method.

What is the article worth to the buyer?

Tell me what the average price of the product or service is that your article is going to bring traffic to. Then the estimated traffic for that key word the business thinks they'll get per month. Then factor by the number of sales they expect.

Avg. Revenue X # Sold = Total Monthly Revenue for this thing.

    X 12 for the year.

What's your article worth? A % of this, don't you agree? Now you have a real basis for understanding the value of your article.

I wrote 600 word articles for a scientific and testing equipment company. These articles attracted and drove specific traffic for those items. They had to be technically accurate, and the average writer wasn't going to be able to do that.

Say the average value was $800 for the product. And they were expecting 3 sales a month. That's $2,400 in revenue per month, x 12 = $28,800 for the year.

    Should my article be $5?

    $40 (0.14%)?

The company offered $100 and I agreed. Say they made 1/3 profit on the $2800. That means on the first month they made a cool $700 net profit from this one article. And every month thereafter, $800 as long as my unique content kept grabbing leads.

I wrote these articles for $100, and they took me 2-3 hours. After awhile, it became a low-value use of my time. But while I wrote them, I was getting paid a lot more than most technical writers.

Don't act like a commodity and don't think like one, either. Niche down like crazy and become known as The _________ Writer. The one you go to for that specific thing. That's how you get paid more.

Depends on the article and how would be its impact to clients. Mostly it's just $5 but if it's good it could reach up to $20.

i'd say no less than $20. you have to factor in researching. unless you're rewriting rehashed info but still $20 is good.

For 600 words, the price should be around $15. That is the price i charged last time for an article. I have also seen people charging around 50$ for a 1500 words article. So it also depends on type of customer you get.

It depends on type of article and who is the author/writer and how much experience he is having in the article writing.
