It's been a while since I posted here but I am hoping for some advice from some of the experts in here.
To date I have positioned myself as a consultant to small business focusing on optimising client's internet strategy. What it basically boiled down to was me analysing their business and strategy and then offering advice on the best way to implement their web strategy. I have found myself doing more and more business process analysis, which then translated into process flows for their integration between their backend office admin systems and their online systems.
I did all of this as part of the web design fee. My latest client I changed the process and I have now charged them for the consulting up front and will then quote them separately on the development of the site and integrations.
The advice I am looking for is how present this offering so that clients know that they will get a full business process analysis of their systems and associated marketing strategy.
I am effectively changing my target market and I am battling with the presentation of this concept or if this concept is even valid.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
