Customer : what do u mean?
Me: call the secretary to ask when is my next call.
Listen i dont have much time to BS people around , i dont low ball or nickel and dime people . So im gonna ask you straight up , are you nickel and diming me or you just think this service is shit?
Customer : I think the service is good but i dont have the money.
Me : Listen forget about the money tell me will it X do what you need to drive profits up
Customer : yea it looks good but i just cant afford it.
Me: 3 years ago ,my son who works at X bank told me dad buy gold . i didnt , was afraid , not sure i blame Obama , you vote for him.
Customer : Yes
Me: no one is perfect , im catholic.
Customer: (Laugh ) Turns out hes also catholic
Me:So are you gonna make my mistake? you gonna be scared pussy cat and in 3 years thinking **** that guy was right?

    Sometimes that works. I wouldn't count on that very often. It's really not the most professional thing I've seen done.

          Bingo very few people can pull this off and those that do like Grant Cardone would never be so amateurish about it. Also if you have seen him live you will know that while he plays up the ego he is a good guy. He knows how to sell and he knows how to play the roll of course but he's a good guy. Though his ego and self promotion can get annoying at times I still love his work and hopefully next time I am at a conference he is at I can grab dinner with the group he is in.

      That's true, but a better idea is to have balls without
      using any sales taboos ... like religion, politics or curseing.

      altho, in my experience, cursing among small business owners
      is sometimes expected even encouraged by some owners.
      But religion and politics... Best to always stay away from those.

      I am in sales, I LOVE talking about sales. That doesn't mean I agree
      with every sales technique that comes down the pike.

      I am sure you don't either.

      And in case you missed it, I agreed with you, but for the sake
      of the new to sales people, I mentioned talking politics
      and or religion is just not a good idea.

    Although, those are incredibly stupid rookie mistakes.
    It's that you absolutely missed the objection.
    You were merely lucky. You had no answer. You only said a few crude things that by some quirk, didn't offend your prospect.

    I'm sorry. You have heard from three expert salespeople. Two of us have sold millions of dollars in direct selling. You aren't selling. You are spitting.

    I didn't know you could pack so many stupid mistakes in so few sentences.

        It was harsh. It's not like he asked my opinion or anything.

        I tend to think it was a joke. If it was, then it was too subtle coming from a newbie. One thing I can't do in selling is take a stupid statement and hang someone with it, although those thoughts race through my mind as I'm presenting. But here? I was going to let it go with a bit of sarcasm...but he threw a jab at two smart cookies.

        I have a few unreasonable prejudices. One is salespeople that think they have skill and they are abysmal. It's an admitted prejudice. So, yeah..I was harsh.
        My only regret is that he'll get mad now, and not learn anything.

        This guy actually has a couple of intelligent posts. Oh well.

      I thanked this post yesterday but I have to comment on this. This is one of the best posts on this forum I have ever read. Yes in this case it is directed at the OP but change the wording and it could be directed at a lot of people.

      This is what I like to call a mirror post. It reflects back on you and hopefully you see the good, to be able to repeat it, and the bad, so you know what to change, in yourself.

      I think we all need a wake up call from time to time. We need to look in that mirror and be honest with ourselves. So look in the mirror and give yourself the speech before Claude has to do it for you.

    Me- Yes, all is right.
    He-Well, I just want to talk you about a wonderful oportunity to skyrock your profits.
    Me- I am not interested, I just want to use the software and see how it goes.
    He- Are you serious to make money??
    Me- Yes, I am, but now I have not money to invest
    He-It's not about the money, it's about an exclusive offer we are giving to some members only, and as a thank you for purchasing the "software" to make more money.
    Me-Sounds great, but really I have no money to invest, thanks.
    He-Let me ask you: Are You really SERIOUS about making money online? Because we only work with winners, and those who see to the future, you don't want to see how others within few moths are making thousands and you don't just because you are afraid.
    Me-Sorry, I am not interested and I have no money. And if you call again, I'll ask a refund.

    I don't know why, but the OP reminded me that bad experience. -And since that I never give my phone number- because I just coud not afford it, and really I was not interested in upgrading If I had not tested the software even.

    It's true, how are you trying to sell anything to someone who has not money at all?
    In spanish we call "lata" to someone who insist too much in something he can not afford.
    Salesman sometimes can not afford some clients. And insisting too much on it, makes him a 'begger' or 'lata'.

      I get emotional because it's attitudes like yours that give salespeople the stereotypes I have had to overcome for years.

      You may think it works for you, maybe sometimes it does, but I can tell you that more often than not it won't. You lose the sale, make it more difficult for the next person, then the "obnoxious salesperson" idea keeps flowing.

      I've sold millions of dollars in insurance, autos, and my own services. I have sold every penny without one swear word.

      I've spent thousands of dollars on sales training and other products to help me excel in what I do. I never remember Jay, Ari, Dan, or any others recommending swearing to win someone over.

      Sales is not rocket science. Treat people how they want to be treated, and the ones that would like to be treated that way, I do NOT want as a client.

      I'll pass on them so you can take care of them.

          Worse than wasting my time would be a new guy coming in here thinking that
          is a good idea to try. I worked with guys like that, they either learn its not the way, or they move on.

          Even most of the arrogant boneheads I have worked with that treat other salespeople like dirt would use this type of language and treatment of their customers.
