Help me pick up that table-money
So a little over a year into this gig, I've decided to start charging my clients for hosting plans. GASP!
The embarrassment comes from not doing this much sooner. Before I would just refer my clients to the web host I use and pick up a commission. But now, I've decided to host the sites myself and pick up all the loot. And I'm basically looking at two options:
1) Hosting reseller plan (probably through HostGator)
2) Rent a dedicated server (through my current host)
Through my research, I've found that the dedicated server option offers A LOT more space...
- 4 x 2.5GHz CPUs
- 8GB RAM
- 10TB Bandwidth
- 1000GB Storage (RAID1)
- cPanel w/ Root
- 1 Free Domain
- 4 Dedicated IPs
- CentOS 6.4 (64-bit) OS
Either option will be used just for hosting small business websites - and most of my client websites have traffic < 500 uniques per month.
So which is the best bet? How many websites can I comfortably fit on the dedicated server? Which one will make my life easier lol?
