Need a local address for my business... low-cost suggestions?

Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere but I've searched and I couldn't find any existing threads on the topic.

I have a couple of directory and local sites, and my home based business, that I need an outside of my home business address.

The local UPS store is about $79 bucks per month and I've heard that Google Local Places is not keen on UPS addresses.

The Local Regus office is $99 per month for a mailbox.

I don't expect to receive anything critical at this address, i just need an address for Google Places, and other directories.

I have an LLC registered to my home address, but I don't want my home address showing up in all of the business directories.

Any low-cost recommendations?

Thanks!

    Hi John Z,

Never saw it here on the forum either, but ...

Right now, like sooo many other affiliates, Chris Winters is promoting the 2 Rockstars brand new 'killer' - so they say -
Google places/local+ scraper software product called "Maps Rockstar".

In Chris' email yesterday, one of the bonuses for buying thru his link, is a solution to your "address" problem.
Cost something like ten bucks, one time payment, covering virtually any city and any country .

Never used it myself, as I said, I read about it a short while ago, just sayin .... Not ethical, I think, for me to put a link here on WSO forum for a FSO item .... nor am I sure what color hat or fart .
Can forward you the email if you like.

    Your call,
    Cheers.

      John -

This is a response to Maxx suggestion/comment on the Rockstars product (with Chris' bonus). What I want to tell you, is I have purchased one of Chris Winters products before, and it was quite useful.

That is to say, all the tools he suggested were pretty useful. Just don't let it sit on your hard drive .

Additionally, while I don't own the 2 Rockstars' current product, I do own their Google Love product and found a ton of value with it.

      That's my 2 cents.

I like the UPS option because it shows up like a regular business address instead of a PO Box. What do you get with the $79 per month option? I have never heard of a price that high...

I have an address at a local storage company. The address is a street number with a suite number. They can accept packages if needed and it looks like a traditional business address. Best part is that it only costs me $3 per month.

    Address looks like the following:

    ABC Company
    1234 Anywhere Rd.
    Suite 4
    Fake City, GA 12345

I've seen some locally as well... but not associated with a storage company, and definitely not only $3 a month. Would be interested in knowing if a majority of storage companies offer plans such as this?

In all fairness, this is an independent mini storage company. I'm sure that my situation is not the norm, but I think it would be worth a call to a few local mini storage places to see what they say.

3$ a month?! that is amazing. Sounds like need to check with my local storage companies.

I double checked my numbers, the local UPS store is not $79 per month it is $252 per year, still a bit higher than I was hoping to find though. This is for the smallest box they rent. Also i heard some horror stories about UPS if you ever switch your address.

I am in a fairly large city (top 20 US) so I guess it's a little pricier than average.

Not 100% sure on this but I think you can use a virtual office address which is what the people above are talking about for $3/month. I guess just look up virtual offices. Also I think G doesn't like UPS store addresses so this might be a better option anyways

I'm pretty sure that the only time you need to worry about google not liking your address is if you plan on having a local presence show up in the search results for google maps, etc...

Are you planning on people needing to visit you at that address?

the ups store prices are different for different locations, it's above average here in L.A. also. Their address' are a little sloppy though. they are usually already in strip shopping areas with a suite number themselves, so you're going to have another suite number added onto theirs.

    Hi there,

One of our clients uses Pak-Mail in America. They tell me it's $19/month.

    All the best,

    Sasha.

      I second Sasha's recommendation.

Pak-Mail is *much* cheaper than the UPS Store. Plus, you can rent it 3 months at a time to try it out before committing to a longer term agreement.

You could also look up local mailing services on yp.com though, if you wanted to use one of them, make sure they have been around a long time.

      Good Luck!

Thanks for all the tips! I'll look at Pak-Mail. Thanks SashaLee

Richie311 when you say 'virtual offices' are you talking about a brand or generic. Regus is a virtual office... very expensive.

Rbtmarshall, no I'm not expecting anyone needing to visit me at the address. I recently read on Google Places policies about 'Service Areas' for Services business, that's likely what I need. But many other directories ask for a corporate address, so I'd like to have an address outside of my home address to use for directories, etc.

Does anyone know if you setup your Google Places listing to "I service customers at their location, so go ahead and hide my address" -as long as you do that, is using something like a mailboxes, etc. or a Pak-Mail address cool then? Any experience with that? Most of us are not going to have potential clients come to us, we are going to be meeting them at their offices anyways..
