Solo?

For a good while I have been doing IM by myself. But for the last couple of months I have given part of my attention to a small joint venture. This is my first one.

It isn't a barn burner project but it is delivering a reasonable return for the effort expended. I found a good partner and we tend to compliment each other. No stress!

Have many warriors entered into any JV's or is the tendency for you to remain "Solo?"

  • Stay solo, or find a business partner organically - preferably locally. Don't force it.
  • It's always good to have control and manage your business, but outsourcing and hiring other employees can make or break a business should you become overwhelmed.

    It sounds like you've got a good thing going - mutually beneficial ventures are always great!

      You also got to (ideally) complement each others weaknesses, and I don't mean tell each other your weaknesses are sexy!

  • Why do you get doubts? If it works perfectly for you just keep going. Both of you can benefit from knowledge and expertise of another person. Just make it clear since the beginning who should do what and how you split the profit.
  • I actually prefer being solo but I should say that a large portion of my
    income has been from joint ventures.

    And I've also had very few problems with joint venture partners.

    I think the most important thing is to JV with people who are honest.

    After that, as has already been said, work with joint venture partners
    who bring something to the table that you can't and vice versa.
