Does anyone on this forum have a new or even long retired Direct Marketing nugget of wisdom?

You know, something forgotten or down right lost to most of us that would give warriors a new point of view. That would be great! Anything come to mind?

    This one seemed to be the most overlooked wisdom in telemarketing: "listen actively". I've taken a lot of calls from direct marketers who just spout whatever's written on their calling script without even asking if I needed their offer in the first place. Seriously, listening is the most basic of all marketing skill that you have to keep in mind.
