Strange google local event has happen !!

What's your thoughts on this?

A high ranking google local listing had its address amended to reflect a small office number change also the category had a minor tweak via googles rep, let's say from plumber to commercial plumber. This has impacted the serp ranking hugely BUT not in the maps serp listing. Another thing is the listing still ranks for a basic yet primary 1 kw in the serps (3rd) but all of the other kws have disappeared and been withdrawn to the maps listing I would imagine that the category change from plumbers to commercial plumber would only cement the listings dominance within the commercial plumber kw serp ranking but it too has been sent to maps listing and not serp listing

Any thoughts on this guys? Would a good dose of citations to reinforce the amended address help and reping all current correct citations in order to push it to the web results and not maps results?..

Honestly why would a Google rep do this knowing the company's stance on having structured citations. Structured being the correct NAP and having it correct all over the web.

I'd hit their support forums about that.

well thats the thing the office space that is rented isnt a fake one ie ups or mail box its actually a real suite however when i asked them about this topic they flamed me for having a UPS address lol, even tho after beening in phone contact with the google rep who was happy to amend the listing to reflect the change of office number, the address Nap is the same as what was inputed into the google local dashboard end however in the serps never displayed the actual suite number only block number for example 173 johns road but now it displays the true address suite 65 173 johns road.. but with the amended info it has actually made everything line up correctly but without serp increase only decrease i would think its because of the address change and maybe google needs to calibrate its info for the listing ?

Google Local is just strange now altogether.

What used to be a primary focus of my firm is now more of an afterthought - at least until Google figures out what they are going to do with it.
