So, that is part of the problem. When I scan to the end of some of these rep tool WSO threads, particularly some of the plugins, the support seems to be non-existant. I'm looking for a tool or combination of even two that has stood the test of time and has a good reputation of their own (ironic).

I was not aware of Buzz Bundle and will be checking that out.

You should check out Buzz Bundle by the Link Assistant guys. It has a cool set up where it trawls blogs/forums/Q&A sites/social networks for pre defined keywords. Definitely a good addition to any reputation management tool box.

Thanks for the suggestions. I actually had an opportunity to take a peek at the dashboard/back end of WhirlLocal today. Seems like an interesting approach, but it doesn't help with distributing reviews across local directories or have the same viral effect as SmashItSocial. SmashItLocal leverages contests to stimulate a surge of reviews providing raffle ticket entries for various review activities (posting, sharing, etc).

I really like the mobile text dimension that Web Reputation Experts adds especially text notifying a manager/owner each time a new review is submitted. Fairly expensive monthly recurring bill though.

I realize it's possible to backlink/promote a local business listing populated with reviews to Google page 1. So my hope is to find a tool that facilitates getting reviews submitted to those citation sources. This also helps with a client's Google+ Local ranking as another fringe benefit.

So, although I understand the logic behind setting up review portal sites for a local business, it seems to detract from being able to distribute reviews where they provide the most "review juice" like CitySearch, Yelp, InsiderPages, Google+ Local, etc

In my tool search, I just discovered another software tool at Business Reviews | Bazaarify which collects reviews from all the online sources like niche-related (urbanspoon, angieslist) and the major local business directories. It then collects and lists all the various reviews on your Facebook page and website. Nice feature.

I watched a WhirlLocal pitch webinar replay yesterday. Interesting system but doesn't seem to accommodate the SMS text angle for review submission and review notifications. Also, only streams reviews on social media and doesn't provide the ability to submit reviews through Facebook or Twitter.

Update:

There were 2 new Rep Management systems brought to my attention which are worth discussing:

Brand Review - Autopilot Reputation Management!

The Costas tool just seems to deal with prospecting for rep management clients but does a great job at that. Love the ability to filter reviews in the prospecting report based on negative ratings. However, it does not seem to address securing reviews for clients.

Now, the Brand Review system has the benefits of accommodating text-based SMS reviews or laptop reviews. However, as with any other review portal system, it falls short in helping clients deal with the vital 3rd party site reviews like UrbanSpoon, CitySearch, Google+ Local, etc. The copy and pasting of reviews onto 3rd party sites without walking customers through the 3rd party review submission process seems weak to me. On the plus side, the hardcopy review material offered for table tents, flyers, business cards, etc provides a nice setup to help offline clients to encourage review submission.

The best system I've found for dealing with 3rd party site reviews (but doesn't filter reviews based on rating or deal with SMS reviews) is this one which by itself is $85 per month:

So, this all gets back to my original challenge in that no one system exists which addresses all the criteria I listed in my original post above. I was hoping to pay for one system and over a comprehensive solution to offline clients.

Maybe as a group, we can figure out the right combination of tools/systems to offer a complete RM solution.

I'm now sure if any automated software works well for that as a turnkey solution. It can help to search for reviews/opinions, but then you need to post manually to repair the situation.

We have been in business for a little under three years so no need to worry if we will be here tomorrow.

This is our light version of lblrobot that doesn't post the reviews but funnels real customers to post them on sites like Yelp and Google.

This is a stand alone software but is also available to our full version where we post the reviews for you.

After reading the recommendations here decided to buy Reputation Crusher but am having a few issues and can seem to get a reply from Matthew Iannotti. Not answering email or Skype, I am also not able to post in his support area (my log-in not recognised). Anyone know how to get hold of him?

I've basically had the same problem with reputation crusher. Never worked, posted multiple posts asking for a refund in the support forum with no reply... it's been months.

Look up places scout on the forum. Amazing and it now has report and get this, they support their product.

Thanks for the response. Sorry to hear that, I had high hopes for what I could do with it. I paid with Paypal so if I don't get any help I will just ask them to sort out the refund for me.

I just got my refund 2 days ago. Pretty disappointed with that lying thief. Don't bother opening a PayPal claim, he will just respond and say that you downloaded the bonus content (even if you didn't), and claim that you're not eligible for a refund.
He will also say "I'm not helping you unless you close this dispute". Total scumbag

Instead, call PayPal directly, and explain the issue to them. That's what I did, got my money back

Don't you guys think it's scammy to repost the same comments to each web review site? Don't you think Google's smarter than that? They will catch on just as they did with duplicate content in the past. It's this crap that makes Google have to change their algorithm all the time.

Also, do you guys think it's a TOS violation to give incentive to post reviews? Yelp's TOS states that no compensation can be given for reviews. Does this include giving a coupon to try to get someone to fix a bad review? (Anyone successfully done that btw?)

I doubt google sees duplicate reviews as being scammy. Simply because, there are times when customers really do go and post the same reviews onto multiple sites themselves. They don't want to have to share their experience, good or bad, in different words at multiple locations.

As for the TOS you pasted, nowhere does it say you cannot post a review on someone's behalf. The reviews would be real, and if you're using a good enough system, you can log evidence of this, including the original customers IP

I use Reputation Kahuna. Unbelievable system, best money I've ever spent.
Pair that up with Reputation Markting Blueprint, and you have yourself a bulletproof business in the works.
Don't expect buying them to automatically bring you customers though. You will still need to work hard at the start

Good string here... Yeah, I tested Costas Peppas Rep Man Control w/ his $1 for 7-day trial. It's pretty solid and makes some good reports. He'll funnel you into his training for $97 to get the add-on WP stuff and some info graphics!!

I also avoided Rep Crusher, even though I got the "beta" offer from Matthew Iannotti. Sorry, but I'm a past customer of his Lead Gen software. I don't use it anymore after discovering Lead Kahuna. Besides, his customer support reputation here is in the hole! I recommend staying away from his products for the obvious reasons posted earlier in this string. Just search the WF for his name and judge for yourself and you'll see he lacks serious customer service management skills.

Many of you may have noticed, if you're on his list, that Jeff Herschy is partnering with Zach Anderson and is now on the Rep Marketing bandwagon!

Yea, it's the buzz of 2014, don't you know!

Ash, the poster above was taken care of and left us a great review on reputation crushers.. Not sure who the other fellow is. So let me get this straight, in April, you emailed us this:

Raved about us and products.....But..

Since you didn't get free support from an unrelated product in which everyone else had to pay for, we're all of a sudden bad guys?????

Just last month you signed up to become a beta tester, it's not that you declined, it's because we charged 1 dollar and didn't go ahead with it, but when we announced it as sign up here to beta test before announcing we would charge 1 dollar, you gladly did. I'm not sure what else to say, I think it's pretty clear.

Of course it works, why do you think we put out updates for 1-2 times per month, if you had an issue with a ticket, should have sent me a PM and I woulda lit fire under someones behind. If you still use it or want to let me know and I'll set you up. We just rebuilt the entire members area 2 weeks ago, surely we wouldn't be doing that for a product that doesn't work.

Posting reviews on behalf of some one else requires disclosure, of which ALL the major review sites like Yelp and so forth do NOT allow. Disclosure is required by the FTC.

If you take my review of your product and post it on Yelp you have created a FAKE review because you aren't me. You have also broken some laws as well, false advertising, deceptive business practices, and possibly a few others at a local and federal level.

If you're using a system that encourages this type of behavior you not only open yourself to legal risk but your clients as well.

Don't even think of trying reputation kahuna....too many bugs...you cannot cancel..they want you to call a number they never answer or return calls and in the meantime they keep debiting your account.
