Random: do you hang up first or do you let them hang up?

I'm sitting here practicing my cold call script about to make calls in a few minutes from now, and an interesting thought comes to me. Do yo hang up first or do you let the decision maker hang up first?

I ask this because I'm wondering if that's a factor could add or take away from the effect of a cold call. What do you guys do?

I pretend they are one of my old middle school girlfriends and wait for them to hang up first.

If they dont I then prompt them to hang up and unlike middle school gfs they never reply back "no you hang up first."

I think that you are overthinking it and need to just pick up the phone and start calling.

  Yup. That was my first thought. You're looking for reasons not to dial. Just pick up the phone. If you screw up the first 100 it's not like you've got to see them again.
