Fair Prices for solid leads

Hey there,I'm thinking about doing lead generation

The problem is that there doesn't seem to be a central marketplace for them so
how do you know if you're charging a fair price?

(I'm talking about telemarketed leads here)

Depends on the industry. Are these qualified leads that want to buy a multi million dollar home tomorrow or are they leads that are considering buying a cracker jack box if they can find the right price?

95% of IM'ers have great relationships with clients who also advertise offline and with other people. Stop missing out on that cash and leverage into it. PM me if you are an established marketer and want to find out how.

Well right now I'm taking a look over the internet, that's probably what I'm going to start testing soon:

      Health & auto insurance
      Home & business security
      Edu vertical
      Mortgage
      Loan modification/cash advance

The tricky while trying to survey the market is that some leads are priced because it is expected that the leads are utter crap (for ex. some big insurance lead sites sell them for 8$).

      Maybe more

If there are companies willing to pay the prices you are charging and you are not getting told that it is too much...then it is a fair price or too low of a price.

For me, there should always be a small % of businesses that turn your service down due to price. This means that your prices are just above what the cheapskate business owners are willing to pay....

Depends on the industry. I sell insurance leads (telemarketed) for $35-45 per lead. I was selling them for less until Sandalwood (an insurance agent on this forum) made a lead generation thread and said that was a fair price lol

I don't know what you mean by ` not a central marketplace` but there's plenty of appointment setting companies that you can look up and see their prices or call to get a quote. Big companies usually charge a high set up fee so you can price yours based off of their fees.

Like others say, it depends on the industry. We provide leads here and we charge based on what our clients specification is. For example what industry, contact person, company's income, etc. Do your research online.

B4 the internet I did a "Lead Generation" program for Car Dealers.

I set up a RED Phone on a table in the lobby in front of sales agents cubicles.... of Car Dealerships.

I then proceeded to run ads in the local classifieds and some radio stuff to get Car Buying Prospects to PHONE a number "I Controlled". Calls to MY number caused the Red Phone to ring.

Every time the Red Phone rang I made $45. Each dealer paid me $900 in advance for 20 calls. After that I billed them each month.

      I also did "Lead Gen" for Dentists. I made up a PostCard showing 2 sets of Teeth. Before and after photos showing beautiful WHITE teeth in the after shot and....my PostCard said;

      "FREE TEETH WHITENING!"
      (PHOTOS)
Yes...it's true! YOU can have beautiful white teeth at NO CHARGE to you from a prominent, local dentist....John Smith DDS, 129 Main, 541-555-1212

This is a $400 Value...provided to YOU for FREE! All you need to do is phone 541-555-1212 in the next 48 hours and arrange for an appointment.

Once again; Do NOT miss this opportunity to have beautiful white teeth like the movie stars! Call 541-555-1212 for your appointment!"

Now....I sent these Full Color PostCards to.....you guessed it.... "NEWCOMERS"! People who had just purchased a house AND...people who rented an apartment or condo (Hey! They want White Teeth also AND, can probably afford additional dental work)

Now....dentists paid me $75 for each appointment that came in on a number that I CONTROLLED!

      Now....why would dentists be willing to pay ME $75 for each apt? For 2 reasons;
      1) The "whitening process" only cost them $10 in materials and about 1 hour of their assistants time
      plus....
      2) The dentists charged their "Initial Patient Fee" of $185...which also included X-Rays and a Cleaning.
      plus...
      3) They got NEW PATIENTS!

Holy Camoly! I SHOULD drop everything and go back to THIS ONE! Real Estate is up again and more people are moving in.

Anyway....thanks for reminding me of one of my BIG WINNERS!

It is all dependent on type of leads you are selling
what i mean is, it dependents on the industry you are dealing with.
