Can YouTube videos still be ranked on page one after penguin?

I mean, can they be ranked just by placing backlinks like in the past?

    Short answer Yes.
Make sure you have your on page optimization and everything else in place like description, tags etc.

In general offline seems to be easier to rank for.

Then it comes down to competition, the more there is for the keyword you want to rank for the more effort you have to put in.

    Social bookmarking helps also.

      Very wise words attan !

sitekrafters you might use this takes some time but works.

Sometimes this will be enough to get you on the front page depending how much
competition your keyword has, though it won’t happen overnight…. what I liketo do is buy some .EDU links for my url (fiverr) creating quality backlinks is very important. (got these idea's from daftdog so credit goes to him )

Almost every client I have has videos on the first page of a Google search. Many multiple times.

The title has to have the major keywords in it. The description needs the major keywords in it.

Views, likes, comments, subscriptions, favorites...all count.

It helps if you use your channel to comment on dozens of high PR videos in your niche.

And of course links to the video.

Depending on the competition, a youtube video can be ranked within Google by back linking alone. Just like anything else in Google, the more competition, the more factors that need to be added to SEO in order to rank well.

Buying tons of backlinks and social bookmarks can get you on Page 1 but it won't help you stay there. You'll need to build a robust & diverse backlink structure to your video for it to stay there. I have 7 videos in 4 different industries that rank on Page 1 for very competitive niches..som might take longer to appear on page 1 (maybe 4-8 weeks) but those usually stay there longer without repetitive SEO..

Yes, certainly possible. It all comes down to keywords. If you're not too worried about branding, you can set up a new channel name for each of your videos using the keyword in the channel name ... that's a big boost.

  • definitely, you tube is working for me after panda and penguin latest updates. My Videos and PPTs are getting comparatively higher rank in search engine and so i am getting great number of visitors. If you have 4-5 videos that describe your business then definitely one or the other will work for you.

Make sure the file name of the YouTube video you upload is the same as your keyword. You can also make multiple videos for the same keyword, adding part 1, part 2 etc.

I believe people are more willing to spend more time in watching a single video compared to navigating a website. With the proper optimization, YouTube videos can definitely rank on page 1. Take advantage of the YouTube captions. They can definitely help in generating traffic.
