How many decision makers should I speak with?

OFFLINE MARKETING

I've decided to start cold calling, and I really want to give it an honest try. So I want to create some kind of structure about how many numbers i should dial, conversations etc.

Can someone please give me a little bit of advice regards this?

I always see this two ways.

1. Set number of hours. I will call from 1 to 5pm for example.
2. Set number of sales.

When you really need to get going I advice both.

Example: I will keep calling till 5pm unless I haven't made two sales in which case I will keep calling till I do.

That way you never stop at just 2 on a good day and you don't give up on a bad day.

I use a simple formula. 100 cold calls will net you one real sale within 30 days.

Let me use this.
100 cold calls should equal 30 conversations with REAL decision makers (not influencers).
30 VITO (very important top officer) conversations should net you 10 appointments.
10 appointment should net you 3-5 proposals.
30% closing rate, this is 1-2 new customers.
My customer value in this business is about $8000.

How many warm leads do you need? If say, you are interested with 10 leads per week, call until you get 2 a day. Do not try to exhaust yourself calling the whole day. After reaching your quota for the day, focus on other tasks at hand, like how to follow-up the lead.

First is you need to divide you time properly during making a call. You should also set a limit to the number of minutes when making a call. Spend enough time of interested clients and spend only a few minutes if you thinks the customers is not really interested to listen to you.
