Organic Vs Places?

Is it even worth doing local organic SEO just to be listed under the 10 Google places listings? Ranking 4-5 would be a good achievement but you would still be under the 3-4 top spots PLUS places listings. I mean if you can get on Google places you would technically be ranked 3-13 or am I missing something? Do people not click on places as much or?

    You can rank above Google Places listing.

    Also rank videos, people are more inclined to click on them.

    Check Google places dashboard, see your impression of local place listing and check your keywords under which your listing appear.

    I have no idea what keywords you want to rank for. But personally any searches I do that Zillow comes up in the results I don't get places results for.

    Like others have said you want to get them notices period. So that means you want as many of the page one results as you can get.
