Hello everyone,

Thank you in advance for your thoughts and advice.

So my friend is just about to branch out on his own and start his own business, now his main trade is plastering, however he is also going to be doing other trades too. You've probably heard "jack of all trades master of none" but this guy is master of all, he is one of those guys who is just damn good at everything. And this is the main reason for me joining here today, you see...

He wants me to build a website for him, however i don't know how to approach it. Would i take his business name and build one site or build a fresh site for each trade? Im sure there are pros and cons for each, for instance one site using his business name as the domain will be really good for brqnd awareness, howeve a new site for each trade would probably be easier to rank with exact match domain names.

Now i know this is probably going to take some time to see results whichever way i decide to go with this, but id just like to know what you'd recommend.

So far my idea is to build the one site and simply create a new page optimised for each keyword for each trade e.g.

Best plasterer city
Cheap plasteter in city
Reliable plasterer city

This way i will have a mass of indexed pages targetting loads of different terms. The way i see it, if i can rank 20 to 30 pages for each trade even if they were only receiving 5 searches each per month each trade would receive about 30 visitors each month, even more if top spot rankings are achieved.

Which spread across about 10 trades would result in at least 300 visits per month, and this is probably the absolute minimum, i would guess it would be closer to 1000 visitors.

Also for each term i will be creating a short youtube video and ranking that.

Anyway your thoughts are appreciated, thanks in advance.

David

Here's a site that Jack Mize (one of the Legends in IM Marketing) uses to show his "Students".

It's a ONE page site with a "squeeze page" to collect Leads HOWEVER....you can get MORE Leads by making a VIDEO from 8 or 10 photos with Windows Live Movie Maker or Animoto or....what I prefer is PhotoStory3 by Microsoft (mainly because it lets you Pan and Zoom)....toss in a music background... upload it to YT and rank it for the KeyWords you mentioned BUT....I suggest you use, "Town Discount Plasterer" or "Plasterer in Town".

Make a Thumbnail of your buddy (consumers LOVE photos of PEOPLE) holding a Spatula and he will get ALL the customers he can handle!

Example; Google; "LasVegasRoofing" or "TampaWindows" and pay close attention to what is on the 1st page of these Thumbnails and WHY would most consumers click on these Thumbnails?

Then....pay attention to the videos.....how they are laid out and Call To Action!

NO websites....NO SEO....just Videos with Thumbnails FORCING consumers to click!

      Hey don,

Thanks for the reply, really appreciate it. You think videos would out perform a site?

Also just out of curiosity what is the one pager you were talking about? There is no link.

      Once again, thanks.

Here is a link to one of Jack Mize's sites:
Houston Discount Roofing Contractors - Emergency Roof Repairs 713-242-1651

I should note, I am not a fan of his one page landlord course.
I like Jack, and some of his other products, just not this one.
