Need help with muck design setup

Hi guys,I got a few prospects in line, and I need to create some sort of muck design to show them.

What is the best way to go about it ?
Should I purchase a random domaine name, put it on my hosting account and used it ?
And every time I get a new client I work on that domain ?
I do have my own website for my company.
I'm New to this so looking for some help and ideas.
Tks .

A "muck" design? Do you mean a "mock" design?

If so, what I did was buy a generic domain like "heresyournewsite.com"

Then I made generic mock ups on different niches (plumbers, fencing contractors, chimney cleaners, etc.) and put each of them on a seperate subdomain so that it looks like www.plumbers.heresyournewsite.com.

If you want to do a specific mock up for someone, it looks good because the website example you show them is www.joespoolhall.heresyournewsite.com.

At any rate, this way you only pay for one domain and the one hosting account. The subdomains/subdirectories are free.

Over time, however, I stopped doing mockups for individual businesses. I still may show them a generic example but if I put the time into doing a site to show them these days, I am getting paid for it.

Thanks, sorry for the bad english, yes it is a mock.
I do have a domain, so I guess I just need to create the sub domaine ?
Can I also do my work there and then just transfer to is hosting wen it is done ?

        Of course.

You can create their website on a subdomain/subdirectory and when it is complete, transfer it over to their domain with something like backup buddy or WP Twin.

I, however, usually go ahead and buy their domain and create the website on the domain using a placeholder so it isn't live until it is finished.
