This is a long shot but I figure I'd ask.

Hi Warriors!

Little help here. I have some local businesses that I work with which are non-compete. What I am trying to do with Wordpress is have them log in and create a post with a deal. Then those deals are put together on one page like a coupon sheet (2 columns of 5 deals preferably) and emailed out as a newsletter to subscribers.

I ran through some scenarios and plugins but nothing really works they way I want.

Any help or suggestions would be fantastic!

Thanks,
Steven

Nifty idea =) Since I love nifty ideas, I took a poke around online to see what I could find.

    Came across something called CouponTank

Design Your Own Coupons | Coupontank

    (not an aff link)

It's designed to work with WordPress - also has a plugin. Now I didn't dig in to see how, or if, your clients could log in and make their own coupons, but there's probably a way to make it work.

Good luck - and let us know how it goes!

You don't need a plug-in to think. In wordpress, use your WYSIWYG editor to create two columns on your new page. Copy the link into the email message and send it. Create users with limited rights for each of your "clients," when you get some, so that they can do this themselves. In the meantime, do it yourself.

I checked with Coupontank and that will not do what I need.

Maybe some kind of ad management plugin instead?

I don't think I follow you on this.

        Hi there,

What he's saying is create Users on your site with limited permissions. You allow them only to edit one page, which is your page of deals.

smsagent suggests you layout the page in columns so there's 2 columns with ads.

Your clients can just login and upload their ads/deals. As an admin you can control the positioning etc, or just upload the ads yourself.

Hope that makes it a little clearer,

          Hi Sasha,

Thanks for the details and taking the time to clear that up for me! I will look into that option.

          Thanks,
          Steven

I think this plugin will do what you want WpDirectory Plugin - Facebook & Mobile Enabled Wordpress Business Directory

I had it on an unfinished demo site that ranked and even had a few spammers begin to populate the blog. There are measures in place to prevent this, I just didn't mind the site at all.

"The WpDirectory Plugin allows you to create a local business directory using the power of WordPress. Businesses can add contact details, including telephone number, address, maps, photos, coupons and special offers as well as anything else you want them to be able to add."

The previous owner went missing but it appears that there's new ownership per their recent blog post: New Owners With An Eye On Support - WpDirectory Plugin
