NEED LIST - Infofree dropped from 2K to 1K for 49$ on Aug 1?

We usually have our clients provide our lists, but we sometimes have to purchase a list. If it's a larger client/campaign we go with List Giant, however I need a 2K list that I want to pull myself, check the amount of output and tweak if needed before actually pulling the "list." We used Infofree last month for a one time deal, wasn't really impressed, but the clients needs were quite vague so we ended up with a list mixed with cell phones, dead numbers and overall NOT the target market we were going for due to how the list was coded (which infofree just told me "we have no cell phones on our lists" - to which I disagreed and said "you have owners who have home businesses who have registered their cell as their home, so you most certainly do have cell numbers.")

We canceled the renewal (it was one time we just wanted 2K numbers and don't need it monthly). However, this new list I need is way different and I'm ok with trying them again. New catch, on Aug 1, they went from 2K leads (49.95 fee, plus one time set up of 27) to 1K leads for that price. In addition, I JUST canceled our "renewal" so they want me to pay the 27 again, 4 days after I canceled.

I do not want to use LG because the pricing for what I need is way too high (small amount of numbers), and I do not want to use infofree now based on principal, and I called infousa (which is Sales Genie) and don't even get me started on the sales pitch and pricing that douchbag gave me.

Ok, so here's what I'm asking...
What OTHER list providers do you use that you are happy with?

I do not want to hear YP, or Google or any of that crap...you can use those if you want, but we will not be.

My criteria is this:
I want to pull my own list of 2K in their database
I want NO recurring monthly fee/one time pull

Do not email or PM me telling me you will pull me a list for XXX$ - I will block you, I am not looking for you to sell me anything.

We use Sales Genie and Hoovers. Sales Genie is good for everything, but Hoovers is only B2B.

After talking to infousa (who is SG) and getting the DB that didn't listen and still wanted to sell me on a 12K number package, I refuse to do anything with SG. Not to mention we used them years ago and their lists are quite crappy along with their CS and database set up. I don't even feel like I'm losing out. They are also the highest priced list provider out there. I highly suggest List Giant (talk to Carl Ball), if you are in the market for large packages.

The guy I talked to today at infousa, actually gave me a price, to which I said, "that is $150 over what LG quoted me this morning for the same number of leads - can you do any better" and he said "well, then I can't help you, you should go with them since you think it's a deal." I've said that to people before that were trying to lowball us in our own business, but it was his tone as if he didn't believe me that pissed me off lol. I gave him the number to Carl and said "maybe you should check with them yourself and see that your rate is too high." Then I hung up. There's a difference in providing quality service and providing phone numbers - I'm not paying 150$ more for the same damn thing.

You need to move from the list aspect to the monthly access plans. Hoovers is like $200/month and Sales Genie will give you everything for about $150/month.

Once you have access, you can build the same lists, and there are ways to extract the data without all the download credits.

They claim there are no "current" coupons available, and I can't find one. In addition, I did find out that we can still get a block of what we need (2K) and pay .03 per lead over the 1K allowed for a month. Probably just going to go with that since I don't need a ton of leads for this client.

You will need to be creative in how you work out the logistics - but I have known people to pull lots of lists for free from ReferenceUSA

You didn't read. I don't need or want a monthly fee or yearly deal, we do not have to buy list often, so I don't have a need to pay 150 a month for a year. The last list I had to buy was 4 months ago...they are usually supplied by our clients.

I did get the 2k list though, thanks to those who helped

  • I realize I'm over two months late to the party, but feel free to reach out to us anytime you need that. I'm also going to be offering an infofree type product (like their old one) pretty soon, hopefully within the next few weeks.
