Is there a software to record tele conversations?

Hi there,

You can also use Audacity (free) to record your calls if you're just interested in improving your own pitch, etc.

This is a great idea and will improve your calling immensely. Kudos to you for thinking about doing it.

I use Pamela for Skype.

In the past I've used a piece of hardware that's like a jack you plug your phone line into and connect up with the computer. If you're not using software to make calls from your computer, you'll need a connector like that to hook your phone line up to the computer so you can record the calls. And of course you'll need recording software like Audacity (free!) to capture them.

There are some good softwares for that, some free and some with monthly subscription. Which one is you looking for?
You can download free one from softonic.com it has a great sound quality.

I use Evaer and I've also used Pamela.

They both work fine.

If you're going to use a landline many quite cheap
answering machines will also record your phone
conversations for you.

Hi Ewen,

Just upload your recording to elance or Guru.com and you can get a quality transcription.

You could also probably find a fiverr gig that would work well.

Software hasn't worked well for us for transcribing anything.

You might try training Dragon to your voice and then playing the recording into it to see if that would work. It should.

I tried this old school style by playing the file into Dragon manually (i.e., direct from speaker to microphone). It doesn't work so well--the recorded voice is just slightly different, and the software has trouble with it.

You can also record to a digital recorder and upload that file to Dragon. Or you can try the Dragon app for your smartphone. You need the premier version of Dragon to make that work.
