How many websites - for the same niche?

I'm queries to know if you have more than one website ranking on Google, even if it's for the same niche and local market? In my case I have a website were I generate leads, but I'm investing serious amount of money on it and if Google decide to push it away, I would lose all my income.

So I thought I would build two more sites with different SEO strategies, to avoid getting wiped out from the market.

    Nothing wrong with doing it, I actually think its a great idea. Even have 3, but don't rank it in the top 10, that way it is building up age which will make it easier to rank if you get wiped out.

    Are you getting your leads from a form or phone?

    There are companies that have different websites and I think it's completely fine just as long as they are completely independent.
