Make $1,000-$2,000/week Google Virtual 360 Tours + Photos

Im new here and ready to give to this forum so I can make some friends.....Ok

Here is the method. Its not anything that new to most of you but it has a different twist and involves some investment.

1.Enter "niche business + city" in your search engine and make a list of 50+ Businesses that do not have google photos, virtual tours or google places set up.(it can be any city because there will be a photographer in every city but start in your own in the beginning so you can possibly meet with photographers and business owners.)
Here are some niches:
Restaurants
Hotels
Beauty Salons
Night Club
Car dealers and so on

2.Get a fiverr gig or some sort of cheap designer to do business card logo and letter head format and design template so when you mail out your offer you will look professional when offering services.

3.Write your sales copy or hire someone on this forum to do so( I will not spoon feed you and write the letter for you)GO TO WORK!!!!

4.Go to your local post office and pick up some of those priority mail or first class mail envelopes if in US if not do equivalent:this is the best way: or you can buy manilla 8x12 envelopes.

5.Ok yes there will be some cold calling but you are not selling them any thing you will simply ask for the managers name and that is it. this is so you can add the managers name as well as the business name on the envelop.

6.Hand write all info on the envelop, do not use any self addressed stickers or any shit like that or any graphics. HAND WRITTEN Everything on the envelope!

7.Pick up any lumpy low expensive item like dice and put them in each envelop along with the business card stapled to the sales letter.

8.Take a screen shot of Google page with a business that has google places set up with photos and address and print it in color(just click one of the businesses that pops up when you search and screen shot the google places ad on the right side) **you dont have to do this but this is something tangible for the client at the moment so they can understand what you are offering.

9.If you decide to use the screen shot please use a red pen and neatly write...."You need this you are missing out on new customers everyday and believe me you really are, Business niche + city is being searched xxx every month and new customers are not seeing your business, Contact us today for consultation" use google keyword tool for statistics and you can screen shot this as well

10.Go to google certified photographers and contact photographers and let them know that you are an internet marketer and looking for photographers to work with on your current campaign no need to give specifics but let them know you can bring them more business. (dont forget to add that you work with google certified photographers in your sales copy or where ever or if you ever plan to add that)

11. You guessed it mail your offer to the businesses and let the cash roll in.

I'm willing to answer questions so please don't be afraid to ask.
This is a real business to run and with the proper elbow grease it can be a $5,000-$10,000 business easily. once you have these businesses for this service they will be putty in your hands for upsells web design seo social media or any thing..TAKE ACTION NOW!!!!!

GOOD LUCK AND DONT FORGET TO TAKE ACTIN NOW.

I have no idea what to charge a client for this,, do you have some sort of guideline that you use, I am sure the price would be different in other parts of the USA.

Pricing can be based around you photographer. I would charge any. Where from $500 up to 1,000. Use your judgement and charge the client what you think they can afford. Dealers are the best. The photographer can help with pricing but I would say pick a set amount of pics then work on a 70/30 spilt with photographer. Or you can simply give the photographer $300 for basic shoots and bank the rest.

Pick my brain and ask as many questions as you like. Sorry if this was a little choppy I'm at the barbershop. Good luck I'm here 2 help

Also don't forget the value that you are offering them don't be afraid to charge for your skill and marketing savvy. If the client is on the fence reiterate the value and offer the best price possible. Remember these are your clients not the photographers. Good luck

I recommend building a relationship with the Google Photographer, if you plan on giving them $300 for a entire shoot, they will probably get offended depending on the size of the business. For small businesses, $300 will probably be fine but the price increases if the business floor-plan increases in size.

I did a little search in my town, while some of the businesses have their google places page setup, however most have just the street shot and some crappy photos, none have a virtual tour, so this sounds very doable,, it's not going to cost much to do either, but it is a business so I don't mind investing what it takes.

You will find most businesses don't have a virtual tour, some businesses get what this program can do for them but other businesses just don't get it. Remember that alot of businesses will be small to medium businesses and they aren't going to want to spend a crazy amount of money on this. This is a easy sell for business owners who get it but for those who don't get it, well, it is not that easy.

Ted - please pm me, I would love to know how you upsell local businesses on optimization, seo, social media, etc.... I am in the field doing this and know first hand that the upsells are not that easy but maybe it is just me. Plus, we can chat more about the program!!

Absolutely as 999 said this pricing is mainly for small businesses but if you can get bigger clients you are golden. I offered this to a hotel I used to work at and did 9 room types for a total of $10,000 flat fee I got $3,000. Visit local small businesses. Also the pricing is for pictures only. Virtual tours are more expensive and can be consulted on a case by case basis.

Once again offer value a Maserati or high end car dealers will spend good money if you can sell them. Think about a $100,000 item that you could spend $2,000 on marketing it that's value(don't take this literal it's just an example.

I wish Steve Ski would chime in on this since he is "certified" by Google and could add some value to the likelyhood on this, at least the photographing part,

While photography is important. The main point is marketing the services in a non traditional way. There are tons of "certified" google photographers but are they good marketers/business men. If you treat this as a real business you will do fine Add your own Value. Only few will really go after this. This is not the typical Internet marketing business and its not for everyone. It requires WORK and getting from behind the computer that's why it's posted in Offline Discussions

Listen up folks and pay attention to the great advice Ted is sharing with you.

I’m gong to toss in my .02/cents as well… (not trying to hijack this thread – just want to share something that really works)…

Photographers are a dime a dozen, and like most people, they couldn’t even succeed if they offered to sell an ounce of pure gold for just $50.00

Ted’s pricing is right. Most Google Certified Photographers Would Gladly Do A Small Business for $300 Because Most Suck at Marketing.

This is especially true of many Photographers who consider themselves to be artists… because most photographers are Starving Artists.

Here’s how to make recurring income from photographers.

With my photography business one of the ways I gain new clients is to call on restaurants offering to decorate their walls with fantasy portraits I already created of local people!

Present it as a free advertising programme for restaurants.
Canvas restaurants and tell them… I have a 100% free advertising program for you... I’ll decorate your walls with 10 or 12 Fantasy portraits of local people and then I’m going to get on the phone and call each of the families up and tell them that their fantasy portraits are being proudly displayed on the walls of your restaurant for the next 30 days.

And guess what?… These people are going to jump into their cars and drive over here and chances are they won’t just stare at the portraits without buying anything from you. No, they are going to sit down and order something while they are here admiring their portraits.

Then guess what happens next?… They get so excited that they will be whipping out their mobile phones calling and texting all of their friends and relatives to invite them to check out their portraits that are on display in your restaurant.

If each person tells every one they know to check it out, each one could send maybe 5 to 20 people each to your restaurant. Let’s say that each one sends in just 10 of their friends and relatives… that’s 100 more bums on seats in your restaurant and most of them will bring at least one other person along with them so they can enjoy a meal…

This could bring you 200 to 500 new customers into your business each and every month and guess what happens at the end of 30 days? That’s right… I replace those 10 portraits with 10 new ones and I go call all of them up and tell them to go check out their child’s 3D fantasy portrait out at your restaurant and the whole process repeats itself month after month. It’s an incredible advertising program for you and the best part is… it won’t cost you a single dime because each fantasy portrait is watermarked with my web site on it which gets my phone to ring off the hook each month. It’s free advertising for both you and me!

Smart Warriors will set up a fish bowl with a sign that says “To Win A Free Fantasy Portrait – Drop Your Business Card Here”.

Then it is so easy to call these people to tell them that they won. Get their contact details to mail them a portrait voucher. Then sell the leads to a local portrait photographer. And since all of these people are business owners… offer to serve them with even more value!

If you decide to take the above approach contact me for sample fantasy portraits to put up for the first 6 weeks and then replace them every 6 weeks or so with images taken by your photographers.

Or better yet…. Since creating fantasy portraits is so stupid easy… just find a Mom with a camera who would like to earn an extra $1000 on the weekend and let her take ugly snapshots… then send them to me and I’ll turn them into fantasy prints that the parents won’t be able to resist buying!

Then hire someone else to show and sell the images (can be done online using the phone and Mikogo) This way… no one person except you know all the pieces to making this work so you can remain in control and keep most of the profits!

      Cheers,
      Steve

A certified photographer is someone that has filled out an Application with google to become a certified photog which is the only person that will be allowed to post on google places.

What I Did for myself was start an agency with google (which can also be an option for you)and I used other certified photogs the process for this has become much more difficult to be approved. When I did it it was almost as simple as getting a gmail acct. but doesn't mean you shouldn't try.
Also I will give u another tip to protect all u great business man and marketers get a free rocket lawyer acct for an NDA for both photog and biz. Also use a business services contract with prices and services to be rendered.

Put a twist on this. It's a real workable business. I did it but not any more; made money cashed out and invested in other offline businesses.
    Any Questions

Thanks to Steve for taking time out to not only post to my thread but dropping some major jewels on this thread. Take notes guys and most importantly take action. This is a wonderful twist as a stand alone or added to the photography. Actually you can do that first then offer the google places services. Or vice versa. Think of it like list building make these small businesses your personal bank for as long as you like

Hey Ted, 9999 told me about this thread. I was one of the first 7 certified photogs in Canada and first 50 or so in the world,(two being from this board) and have helped as many people as I can to get into the Google program. Iinvent was of course the first.

I will say things here that are public knowledge as Google has binded many people to an NDA but mostly to do with their equipment and process.

I'm not sure where to start about this thread and I was a marketer long before the photog gig and you are right...most photogs are not marketers and in fact SUCK at it and will be the first to admit it. You have to remember they were likely wedding photographers that make $1000 to $5000 a weekend and buying $1500 to $3500 more worth of equipment is nothing to them if they can align themselves with google. However, having the equipment and training to use it do not instantly make you money. I was already selling sites and web services door to door before the pgm so for me, I just had to learn the equipment but for most, they had to learn both the equipment, marketing and sales. That is a HUGE hurdle as many “starving photogs” would agree.

Unfortunately, Google has thrown more photographers at the problem since I started than need be...in fact I think we are likely around 3,000 worldwide now. Each has a set skill level and you have to keep in mind Google's immediate goal of this project which is to shoot as many businesses as they can in as short a time as possible (map the world). Their goal is not to make the photogs money or the businesses more business, it is an after effect of it. This is a super important fact that has come back to bite many of us photogs and agencies. I happen to also market for many photogs in Canada and the US as well and have become painfully aware of this last fact. Google is Google for a reason!

When the program first began the early adopters were easy to find and there was no competition and frankly, I made a lot of money really fast and could not believe how easy it was to get an owner in front of you when the word “Google” was spoken at the front door.

However, critical to Ted's original post, Google unnecessarily placed soooo much competition into the market with other photographers, agencies, and now from the owner themselves (will explain in a sec), that it is nearly impossible for a photog to make money at it consistently. In fact most photogs shoot as little as one per month for as low as $100. Yes you could get some photogs to do a shoot for $300 for a small store but most are not small stores that actually want it done or can afford to have it done. So what do you do when the store is not a 30 minute shoot and you quoted it as that? At $300, the photog is literally losing money. What if you quote an owner $300 and it should really be a $600? There is much more to that equation but it is solvable. My point is you need to know more about it first before quoting or you will likely waste your time, the photogs time and the owner’s time.

If someone wants to know, I will send a wholesale price that is used as a guide by most photogs but as price fixing is totally illegal, it is merely a guide.
OK, let me make a few points to address Ted’s method as I am on the front lines of what works to market this (and it is not easy believe me!) and have been since the beginning. I have stood in front of about 2000 business owners selling this and helped designed programs to sell this (most important).

    0. We are still at the early adopters stage of this program and because of Google’s methods and rules and so forth, we are already in a commoditization stage. Very critical point that I will post more about later. In other words, supply of the service is WAY MORE than demand. But that may change.

    1. A good target customer is NOT a business that has no webpage. They dont “get it”. Your potential customer advertises A LOT, is arrogant, wants people to see his/her business and is willing to show it off. This is likely someone that paid a lot of money to have their place just right. They WANT the photog not for the pictures (which they can get someone to do for $80 in some cities), they want that position on Google. They want maximum exposure because they understand the importance of a Google places page now.

    2. Do not try to sell the business on the photography itself. They buy because they perceive you can help them with their Places Page and more importantly, their rankings. You are their connection to Google.

    3. Google Maps and Google Places has become THE most important element to SEO whether the business knows that or not. Mobile accounts for about 28% web traffic to them and Google maps generates more customers for them then their own website. How they present themselves (including reviews, photos, tours) on that page is where the wars will be won. Get that across to the potential customers that sort of get that fact.

    4. OK, the next facts are super important and things I learned from the top sellers in this program and yes against everything you have likely learned. Never sell door to door. Never email anyone. Never call anyone. Let them approach you. Your price doubles when they approach you. Everything you do to make this happen puts money in your pocket.

    5. If you ignore this last fact as a marketer selling this product to businesses, you are going to fail because that money is what the photog will give up to you to market for them. They are not going to pay you half of what they make. It is not sustainable and quickly falls apart. Create the demand, have people contacting you, sell them on it for double what the door to door guy would have and bank the half. It is win win and works.

    6. Be the business’s hero. Plain and simple. Show them they need to be on Maps or their competitor will be. SHOW them how. YOUR potential customers will get it. If they don’t, you will never sell them anything. If you have someone that starts to try to undercut that, dump them. waste of time, they cant afford it or dont get it. That same time can be used to find many that do.

    7. OK, this is critical into the future. Eventually business owners will be able to do a psuedo-pano inside their business that they can attach to their own pages. And a large percentage will. Not your potential customers tho. If they are making money and get the concept they are not going to spend valuable time messing with smartphones and uploading and many will say this but the quality is NO WHERE NEAR what a trained Google photog can do. Again, be their hero to do with maps. They will get it. They will see the value. Photography is secondary to that.

    8. More importantly, learn maps and places. I did training just on that subject myself and it will pay my bills into the near future WITHOUT me making a single call or knocking on one door.

Most of what I said is always thinking from the business owner’s viewpoint (Google is thinking from the user of the product’s perspective). Think what keeps the owners up at night, find a solution to that and deliver it to them with way more than they expected. Try to sell just the photog and you will go broke.
    Signature
I have no agenda but to help those in the same situation. This I feel will pay the bills.

Ted, your advocating a process / strategy that is not approved by Google. Anyone thinking of pursuing this should not try to go forward without FIRST contacting one of their local Google Trusted Photographers (TIPs). The trusted photographers are legitimate businesses and they will gladly talk to you about a possible sales and marketing relationship. Do NOT try to approach them and tell them how its going to be or you will hit a wall. The TIPs are good folks and they are very protective of their position, their market, and who can and cannot sell for them. Ted your announcement here feels a bit too "salesman-ish". I caution all of you that are reading it - it is not a get rich quick thing and it does not align with the tone of Ted's announcement.

No, not trippin, and it's not that Ted stated it was a get rich quick, it's just that it was typed in such an enthusiastic "act now" tone with punctuation and caps mixed in which implies more than the just the words typed. Didn't mean to cause your anger to surge - sorry for that.
I am a Google Trusted Photog, one of the top performers in the program. Marketing and selling the virtual tours is much more challenging than the photography and publishing, and not an easy sell period. Most of the photogs will gladly let you funnel sales to them. However, Google has some very tight requirements on who, how, and where the Google Business Photos tours can be sold. I've seen Google send cease and desist orders to several marketing companies that were marketing it without being approved or certified by Google to do so. So I caution anyone interested in exploring this to make sure you understand Google requirements before you invest time and money into it. I would love to tell you more, but as a certified trusted photographer I signed an NDA that specifically prohibits me from telling certain things about the program. I welcome your email inquiries.

          This is all true...

But if you are already selling seo/marketing services to offline businesses you certainly can keep what John RentItNow shared in this thread in mind and suggest this service to your clients. Then go find a Google Certified Photographer and offer them the lead.

You are simply acting as a bird dog and bringing two parties together. Last time I checked google hasn't gained control of your freedom of speech. You certainly cannot go around advertising the service but you can mention to your clients that they should consider it as part of an overall strategy.. explain how it could help them.. and then refer a Google Certified Photographer to them.

I invested several thousand dollars into the approved photography gear, took the training and signed google's NDA but I can't afford the pay cut that I'd have to take if I focused on virtual tours at the neglect of my fantasy portrait business.

To many rules and regulations with being a google certified photographer... most of them are struggling on the marketing... it's hard for many of them and after seriously looking into working the program I decided its far easier and much more profitable to go after the low hanging fruit... parents with children who want portraits of their kids and are just blown away with the results.

It's simply far more profitable for me to work out a joint venture with a classy restaurant where I decorate their walls with portraits and send them more business because each restaurant can get me 100 portrait clients each year, and since a portrait session only takes 30 minutes and each typically produces $500 to $1000 in profits... it is far more profitable and easier to offer fantasy portraits.

To many rules and regulations with google... so if you already have clients whom who are working with you can suggest hooking them up with a google certified photographer but you better not advertise it openly as a service that businesses can contact you about... unless you are a Google Certified Photographer...

You may be better off on helping Google Photographers to promote themselves and get them to bird dog (refer leads) to you. Just use your brain, be creative and don't piss Google off by advertising you can offer the service when you can't.

          Cheers,
          Steve

ALSO JUST CHECKED MY PM.... I would show this persons contact info but they asked that i did not do that they are a certified google photog and are asking to work with meee...hmmmmmm..... but im out of this biz.....

    Mr. Ted DiBiase,

Would like to talk with you more. I am a Google certified tip. If you can get me businesses who need tours I will shoot them for you. I just need to be able to claim them in sales force so I can be credited with the shoot. You will need to just tell me who has confirmed interest and wants the tour, communicate that to me so I can claim them as a lead. I will need to have my name cleared of all information until we schedule the date/time.

    I charge $399 for the first 5 panorama's and $25 per additional spin (panorama's).

Without the sales involved I can come down to $300 for the first 5 spins. You can charge however much you want to.

The business should pay you and you can pay me my fee. On the contract we need to sign I will have your pricing on it.

    Thoughts?

Please contact me through e-mail or phone:

Tell you what I don't like about this.

I don't like the fact that Google gets this
handed to them and pays nothing for it.

    A total freebie for them.

Also, great positioning for future upsells
for Google, all done in-house of course.

Maybe I'm wrong, but it looks like Google
benefits the most, while offering the least.

Let's just let this one die away. If you really want to birddog for Google photogs, give me an email to mediamartcanada at gmail.com if you happen on this thread later and we can discuss how to really do it and as Steve said, turn some of your customers onto the service and make some reasonable commissions from it. It is a doable thing, just has to be presented better. Thanks. John

Funny how I posted a great thread and people just tore it down and want it to die away. I tried to offer people a suggestion on a business and instead of embracing it and doing YOUR own due diligence. But it's ok I thought this was a forum to give back and get insight and new ideas but its just a bunch of ppl saying this isn't right, it cant be done, contact me if u wanna do it my way.

How are you doing this? How can you offer that? How much to charge? I also think it is hilarious how ppl can tell you how to do something they never did. Or at least made money from. But I'm done with offering ppl anything on this thread. I will let the peanut gallery have it.

So Steve Ski whose friend was DYing to work with me and obviously is not doing that well. I will put the pm up as proof if necessary. So rent it now and Steve ski the floor is yours. Pay your questions here and they will gladly answer. No need to PM them lets talk about it here so it is here for the rest of the warrior community to view and learn

This is fantastic!! How much do you pay the photographers and how much do you charge the clients? What is your role? Do you create the tour once you have the pictures?

Everyone that knows me will let this die away, everyone else just needs to check my name on google's official site (Find a Google Trusted Photographer ? Business Photos ? Google Maps) and I can vouch for nearly all others on this thread) and know the real story. Not sure who you are Ted, but I really did try to help. I rarely fall for flaming jokes but believe it or not I really wish you well in your processes and would love to talk to you but this has been way too much of my time. Have fun!

Thanks to all of you for making this a great thread. There were a lot of great opinions and thoughtful posts here. Thanks for all the criticism I'm sure it will find some worth in my life. I look forward to getting to know everyone, so my post won't be filled so much irrelevant negative info. I'm a great guy maybe just too nice. I just want to give people methods that actually worked for me offline because this is an offline marketing thread. But anyway that's for all of the help.

Ohh yea did any of you even try this???

As a Google Trusted Photographer in NJ, I just want to thank you all for the great content. Very interesting read and the upsell potential is huge. As I have been a a War Room member for almost 7 years, I have to admit the pricing to me felt more desperate than knowing your value. As like anything in life, its a learning experience.
