Selling Commercial Videos For eBay Sellers.

Hi there Offliners , Hope your doing well in your business.

I thought about an idea (which came from one of Zash WSO's) to help people on ebay sell.

Not just some peope , lets say car dealership.
Why eBay?
-They are clearly online to sell and know it imprtant to have listed online.
-They already pay for the listing on eBay.
-They want clients.
-They using Paypal(which is important and critical to me).

Why car dealership? (even though you could choose any one who sells somehing on eBay , i'm just brainstorming)
-They have a lot more cars to offer .
-They are involving in searious money(not just 20 iphone cases in $2.99..)
-They are real.

So , I thought to create a short video (using powerpoing or outsource it to someone on fiverr.com or odesk.com )

And the video simply include the photos of the veichle they are trying to sell (a nice upgrade for the video is adding a real live driving film. [search for youtube for XYZ car and get the video and use it on your own commercial ebay listing video (if needed , ask for some premission) ] )
And the company contact detail.

And then sell it for one car for only $30-$50 , and if they want to have a list of lets say 5 cars, in spaciel price of $120-$150.

If they want to get a real commercial video about their business in general and not only video for X car , video for Y car and so on , they will pay $250 or something like that.

What are you guys think about this idea?

Thanks , Yossef.

Happy Marketing.

    Hi there,

It sounds just like a midasman idea. Go do it, and test it and see what happens.

    All the best,

    Sasha.

Personally i can't see car dealers paying for this. Why would they want a slide show video of the pictures they already have which has cost them nothing???

It sound like a great idea, I am in the video business, but what I do is I provide whiteboards videos (see my signature) to warriors and sellers, maybe you can come up with an idea to integrate whiteboard video with the model you just describe, if that is something that interest you pm me.

I will take a look to Ebay to see if my product fits there too.

By the way what you explain is a very illustrative way to think outside the box.

    Good luck

It is a pretty good idea. You just have to continuously see what works best for you. You just need to try. It will surely come in handy in the long run.

For smaller dealers this could work.

Just do not target the larger ones. They likely have access to this or could do it in house if they wanted to.

Also don't discount selling this to the guys selling $2.99 cases. The car dealer might only be making $500 (or even selling at a loss if they use ebay vs. whole auctions). The case seller might be making $1 per case and be selling hundreds a month. Thinking that way who is more likly to buy the video to help sell more?

I wish I could get people to remember that volume means more than gross. Sam Walton won that argument 30 plus years ago. The largest profit will always be in scaling a low priced product or service that appeals to the masses. If you don't believe me look at who the largest and most profitable companies in the world are and what companies the richest people in the world own. See a pattern? You don't get megarich by selling to the rich. The megarich get that way by selling to the masses.
