Google Places / Maps question

So today I was looking for a tire shop close to where I live. I noticed that google maps has the red marker and a blue marker. So I found a place and got in the car to go there. Anyway I left the address on my counter top at home. So I picked up my phone and did a search. This time however the none of the blue markers showed up. So I ended up going back home to get the address. I haven't done anything with google maps in years but I am curious why the blue markers did not show up in the google maps on my phone for the exact same keywords. It does appear the business claimed his shop as there is a link to his website from the marker in google maps on my computer. It just doesn't show up in my phone.

Can anyone explain this to me??

Thanks X

The blue marker represents user-created content. For example, if a user created a My Map that marked a mountain peak that Google doesn't know about, a search for that mountain peak would show up with a blue marker. The red marker represents a listing or location that came from Google's own index, as calculated by us or as provided by a third-party from whom we license data.

Hope that helps and was what you were looking for.
